Beauty Inspiration: Platinum Blonde Hair

Karlie Kloss’s transformation from brunette shade to snow white hue has us seriously considering an iced approach to hair colour.

And she is not the only one. We spotted Kim Kardashian and Vanessa Hudgens sporting silvery locks on Instagram.

Platinum blonde territory has it’s risks, especially if you’re on a darker side of the spectrum, so tread carefully. The important thing is not to do it yourself and for the hair to be in a healthy and strong condition.

It will take a couple of hours, and maybe even few trips to at salon depending on how dark your hair is, but make sure to consult with a professional and push for less bleach. It’s also a good idea to request a moisturising treatment afterwards to replenish anything that the dye would’ve stripped off.

Once you accomplished a cool shade, upkeep is key. Opt for products designed for bleached hair and do a mask once a week to build strength and add shine. Go easy with heat appliances and remember to re-book at the salon every 3-6 weeks to cover up any roots.
