After recent news of Salvatore Ferragamo making their future runway show co-ed, Balenciaga is the next brand to follow suit.

Joining fellow Kering-owned brand Gucci, the Paris-based design house will unify men’s and women’s collection from March 2018 that further indicates a change moving through the fashion industry. Be it for cost reasons, pressures on designers to churn out a series of collections every year or to further unify the brand identity, it seems more are reconsidering their model.

However, Balenciaga will also deliver a men’s specific pre-collection from January next year. Kenzo, Burberry, Calvin Klein and Bottega Veneta are some of the other names that have recently revamped their runway showcase.

New year, new changes.
