Giorgio Armani Closes Men’s Milan Fashion Week With A Strong and Forward Collection

Giorgio Armani closed men’s Milan fashion week with a sea of blue and grey pieces, layered with luxe textures and proved that 35 years later, the 82 year old designer could still create a progressive and sophisticated collection. Tailored silhouettes and outerwear dominated the collection and was evocative of 1980s power dressing.  Layering was also a common theme, featuring luxurious pieces draped over jackets and coats and consisting of rich velvet, chunky knitwear or fur scarfs and shawls. The few women’s looks were vibrant in colour, whilst the men’s looks were predominately black, grey and navy. The collection was a strong one, with over 90 looks featuring a multitude of rich textures and materials and contrasting looks, despite the minimal colour palette.
