Etro’s SS18 menswear collection was an homage to the spiritual generation of the ‘60’s. The psychedelic bunch who made pilgrimages from the coast of Goa to the Himalayan foothills. The result is a colourful journey through a kaleidoscope of paisley and embellishment. The prints take from classic imagery of Indian mythology, talismans, elephants, sacred cows and figures from the Tarot all mingle together in a dreamy interpretation of suits and casual pieces.

Stand out pieces included a beautifully paisley embellished black blazer – so unique and yet utterly wearable – and other intricately embroidered jackets, from sporty bombers to military style jackets. The print clash of check suits and densely printed shirts worked well and the stripe prints broke the more intense prints up in a fresh and modern way. Placement embroideries on jackets and shirts elevated the pieces to make them something really special; it was a collection of true investment pieces all with the true Etro aesthetic that extends far beyond one season alone.
