Rabih Kayrouz presented his SS19 collection during the couture schedule, with pieces reflecting the Middle Eastern heritage with a Western attitude.
Going through the line up with a fine fashion comb, below we list five takeaways from Maison’s first runway since officially joining the French Couture Federation.
New Shirting
We love a variation on a classic shirt, and Kayrouz presented them in a white and fuchsia pink, but our focus were on the split sleeves that almost looked like wings as models strutted down the runway.
Tonal Dressing
Does anything look more chic then wearing one colour head to toe? During the show, we saw examples in green, jewel purple, sunflower yellow and deep navy.
Daring Transparency
Risqué transparency aplenty, Kayrouz didn’t shy away from some daring additions to his line up and our top pick was sheer golden roll neck jumper styled over a full skirt.
Matchy Matchy
The designer made a case for a matching dress code by sending some models down in pairs. The identical twins appeared in full length modest dresses in playful floral print on silk satin.
Parisian Cool
There’s something exceptionally timeless about throwing on an oversized coat before you head out of the door, especially when it comes in a classic camel shade.
