In a set of firsts for Burberry, catwalk queen Gigi Hadid models her first collection for the UK-born brand as it showcases its debut monogram collection.
Dressed head to toe in Burberry, we saw a glimpse of Gigi Hadid as we’d never seen her before as she donned the British fashion brand’s latest collection.
In her first campaign for Burberry, the 24-year-old model moved between masculine and feminine designs, embodying all four personalities of the collection – the boy, the gentleman, the girl and the lady – each in turn. Legendary Nick Knight captured the shots for the campaign, while Katy England styled the looks and Isamaya French did the makeup and Gary Gill took care of all things hair.
As well as being the first union between the LA-raised model and the 1879-born fashion house, it’s also the first time Burberry has launched a monogram line. First unveiled in the summer of 2018, the monogram – which interlocks a T and B after founder Thomas Burberry – was designed by Riccardo Tisci in collaboration with the British art director and graphic designer Peter Saville.
On the project, Bella Hadid’s little sister said: “I have always loved and respected Riccardo’s work, and I feel so honoured and grateful that he trusted me with this project. My first Burberry show was my first time working with Riccardo, and the timing just felt perfect. It gave us our first opportunity to really get to know each other.
“The second I heard the creatives for this shoot, I understood how I wanted to bring that to life and show different sides of myself through each character. Nick, Katy, and Peter are all legends, masters at what they do; I cherish my time on set with them and I really wanted to give it my all – it was one of the most fun days I’ve ever had!”
