LONDON FASHION WEEK AW17: J.W. ANDERSON

Yesterday’s J.W. Anderson’s Fall 2017 Ready-To-Wear Collection was a fun and youthful mash up, focusing on feminine silhouettes and playful shapes and textures, “We cleared the slate and then built up the layers again,” he explained backstage. Pieces ranged from draped jersey, chain mail tops, metallics and puffball skirts layered with ostrich feathers, “It was also about couture edges that could be morphed or destructed,” continued the designer, “feathers meeting denim-drill or a cotton-canvas. Things that shouldn’t really work.”

The collection was all about flattering the female figure whilst still retaining the imagination of Anderson’s designs and style. Dresses ranged from casual and grungy draped dresses to  figure hugging and bold brocade prints. Outerwear consisted of over sized and luxurious fur coats or cropped leather jackets and an eye catching trench coat, accessorized with an eclectic mix of footwear. With both his own label, J.W. Anderson and Lowe to manage, Jonathan Anderson certainly has not let his work load impact on the imagination and creativity of his latest collection.
