Corduroy, aka the retro fabric from the Seventies, is one of Fall’s biggest trends but can be a tricky one to tackle.
Last time this fabric had a revival was 2011, but thanks to brands like Chloe, Saint Laurent and Brunello Cucinelli it’s back in a variety of jewel tones and contemporary silhouettes. For those new to this, start with a structured blazer in copper and navy tones and be amazed at how easily it goes with everything.
For those ready to hit the next level wear corduroy head-to-toe in a form of a suit, but keep the trousers either flared or wide-leg, otherwise pair with a matching mini skirt. For a less tailored approach, look to jumpsuits that can you wear over a knit or a T-shirt. The modern touches come from accessories so think chunky leather belts, gold jewellery, point-toe mules or block heel boots.
Lastly, try incorporating it into your other go-to outfits like the heritage blazer that will look even more regal with a pair boyfriend corduroy trousers, or throw on a logo sweatshirts over cropped chord pants.
