Choupette, the cat, has become the heroine of many an escapade that proved both entertaining and unusual. By her master Karl Lagerfeld’s side, she has holidayed around the world and become a rock star. This season, the most famous cat in the world has decamped unescorted, and taken up summer quarters on the beach.
Karl Lagerfeld has dreamt up a beachwear capsule collection bearing the image of a cartoon Choupette. The new collection introduces a large bath towel to slip into a transparent PVC bag, canvas espadrilles to go with a navy blue striped bikini, a keychain for the keys to her beach hut, sunglasses and a baseball cap with cat ears.
When not soaking up the sun, the Choupette addict pulls on a tank top or cotton t-shirt embossed with our iconic cat or an ice-cream cone print and a pair of white denim shorts, or maybe a shift dress with a Tunisian collar to help keep out the evening breeze, or perhaps a sweatshirt with a large collar.
A keen surfer, with her fur-lined cape studded with flowers and her eyes hidden behind enormous sunglasses, Choupette has already won the title of Queen of the Summer.
The collection will be available from the 1st of April in all the Karl Lagerfeld stores.
