Oscar Nominees’ Red Carpet Style: Nicole Kidman

This weekend, the 89th Academy Awards will take place and the red carpet will be filled with our favourite Hollywood stars, all dressed to impress. As always, the Oscar nominees are a particular focus, not just for their potential accolade but also for what they will be fashioning down the red carpet.

Nicole Kidman is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Lion which she stars in alongside Dev Patel. Kidman is a veteran of the red carpet and has been developing her signature style for years. Her slender frame and delicate complexion means she looks great in intricately embellished pieces. She also likes to go for dresses with other textural detail such as ruffles and elegant layers. She loves neutral colours but also isn’t afraid of a pop of colour like red or green. We’ve picked out some of our favourite looks below:

From left to right: In Roberto Cavalli at the 2014 CMA Awards, in Gucci at the 2005 Golden Globes, in Chanel Couture at the 2002 Oscars.

The actress will have a lot to choose from when it comes to selecting her Oscars outfit. The runways were full of highly embellished and ethereal gowns that would look amazing on her. Below we’ve selected a few of our favourites:

As a red carpet master, Kidman could definitely pull off this embellished pale pink jumpsuit with matching cape from Elie Saab. This highly embellished Chanel couture gown with extravagant feathers would also suit her slender frame. If she opts to go for something softer and more delicate, she would look like a woodland goddess in this sheer gown from Dior.
