One of the leading Dubai-based designers Lama Jouni unveiled her FW18 collection inspired by hip hop legends.

Loved by Bella Hadid among other fashionistas, Jouni has found the balance between contemporary lines and undone tailoring with elements of sport and street wear.

Named Minimal Ghetto, the collection takes inspiration from 90’s ear of hip hop and stars of that time such as Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G.

As a result, jackets are boxy with deep square pockets.  The trousers have an undone fit with cargo references, but still retain the sharp lines giving the whole ensemble a polished finish.

Square buckles add an accent to separates, especially the open back top with multi straps. For a touch of elegance, there is a strapless gown and fluid elongated jackets.

She kept the colours in muted navy and grey tones with a touch of dusty pink. For this line, Jouni also collaborated with Kodak International on a series of tops featuring bright yellow logo. According to the release, the designer was inspired photo of Tupac in front of a Kodak store.
