What is a shirt if not an essential part of anyone’s wardrobe, especially when it comes to polished and modern office wear.

Here at a&e magazine, we are always on a lookout for a designer that offers a new twist on a staple, and the Dubai-born designer Marina Qureshi might have something special to offer with her SS19 collection that fuses contemporary silhouettes that are enhanced with intricate detailing and cleaver use of fabric.

Marina explores relaxed and elegant ways of constructing shirting, infused with her signature polished finish. Blurring the lines between daywear and eveningwear, the collection exudes sophisticated charm.

A graduate of Esmod University, she went on to study Business in Fashion at Central Saint Martins in London, and during this time she worked under Alexander McQueen and Masha Ma giving her invaluable experience and skills to work on a debut line of her own.

For summer, expect fresh colours of lilac, powder pink and chartreuse that offset the deep emerald, gold, black with a splash of white and tan. Structured fabrics in cotton and metallic mix jacquard juxtapose lightweight silk and crepe, while gold lame adds a bold edge.

Choose from off the shoulder tops, shirt dresses, wide leg pants, midi skirts and kaftans to fill up your new season wardrobe. She focuses a lot on texture and details, like ruffles on sleeves, feathered butterflies embroidered on lace, and shimmering white sequins on gowns.

With an A-list fan base including model Lara Stone, singer Ellie Goulding,  actress Amanda Seyfried and musician Florence Welch, Marina Qureshi is definitely the one to watch in the new year.
