London Fashion Week Day Three

It was a bright start to London Fashion Week day three with Mary Katrantzou’s SS18 collection. The show note quoted Pablo Picasso’s ‘Every child is an Artist’ and we saw a colourful collection consisting of wide brushstrokes and bold floral prints.  The feminine beauty look with just a hint of pastel eyeshadow on the lids also stood out.

Next up was Anya Hindmarch with her Suburbia set of pastel houses with models wearing a modern interpretation of a seventies housecoats and prints inspired by Anaglypta wallpaper.

Pastels and sheer fabrics have made an appearance at Preen By Thornton Bregazzi. Delicate dresses had an undone feel to them while multi coloured ice cream tones make you dream of summer again.

Roland Mouret creates clothes to empower women. Every collection delivers pieces that not only look good but feel great to wear. For next season expect the same fitted silhouettes he is known for, but slightly looser with a lightness to them.

Over at Versus Versace, Donatella presented a collection for those ‘who dare to express themselves’. First part saw plenty of check-print pieces which was followed on by western inspiration (note the fringed, lucite-heeled cowgirl boots) and then some party dresses. Makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury created a bold makeup look inspired by Amy Winehouse’ iconic punky, graphic, overdrawn feline flick – as well as Kate Moss’ signature eye.

Belting and headscarves dominate the Temperley collection with A-line dresses cinched at the waist styled with twisted headscarves and sunglasses for Riviera chic. Charlotte Tilbury added a forties twist to the makeup which was all about a healthy glowing complexion and added a modern matte orange lipstick.

Peter Pilotto’s vision for SS18 involved fluid silks and tropical prints with a colour palette inspired by Japanese/English painter Peter McDonald. Once again, the design duo have created wearable pieces that stand the test of time.
