Paris Fashion Week SS19: Chloé

For her third Chloé collection, Natacha Ramsay-Levi took inspiration from various parts of the world and unified them in that moment when you watch the sun go down over another blissful summer day.

The brand has long been associated with bohemia, freedom of movement and precisely crafted undone silhouettes. As guests rested their feet on multi-colour Persian carpets that hugged the runway, out came the first group of Chloé girls dressed in patchwork dresses with splashes of floral and wallpaper prints – many cinched at the waist with rope belts.

Then came the Coachella rock and roll tribe with tie dye T-shirts styled with fringed skirts and chunky sandals mixed with crochette dresses, fringed trousers and 70’s style waistcoats. There was beautiful fluidity in how the pieces moved with last eight looks standing out to us the most.

While the previous segments referenced hippy chic, the closing ensembles reminded us of modern day Greek goddesses in their pleated draped gowns and separates – a couple were decorated in multi-colour stones.

As with every Chloé show the accessories are as strong as the clothes, in some cases more so, and for SS19 Ramsay-Levi sent out a couple of new styles along with bulky sandals and bold jewellery – after all, there’s nothing that an oversized pair of earrings can dress up in a heartbeat.

Now, let’s go and chase those sunsets.
