In Focus: Bee Goddess

For fans of mythological symbols that carry meaning look no further than jewellery creations from Bee Goddess – named after the beehive tiara worn by the Anatolian goddess.

Turkish but now London-based designer Ece Sirin launched her brand back in 2007 as world’s first talismanic fine jewellery line. Each of her diamond and gold pendants, rings, earrings and bracelets have a meaning from around the world and feature ancient symbols to represent power, happiness, love or wisdom, with the bee – considered to be a messenger from the gods – appearing across collections as a brand icon.

Sirin previously worked as a marketing director at Microsoft and Coca-Cola, but her role lacked spiritual fulfillment so she decided to swap her corporate lifestyle for Istanbul artisan studio. She also studied astrology and ancient symbolism for over a decade and her philosophy gained a loyal following including celebrity fans like Rihanna, Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss.

Jewellery that is empowering doesn’t have to be bold or overwhelming, Sirin’s designs are delicate and feminine, yet modern and cool. The effortless wearability is the main appeal which is seen in dainty chain necklaces, precise yet statement making ear cuffs and rings. Each piece is finished in 18 karat yellow or rose gold with hints of diamond-encrusted embellishment for a subtle wow factor.

Bee Goddess pieces not only look elegant, but also offer enlightenment and in a crowded world of jewellery you have to offer something extra to stand out.
