L’Oréal Heiress And World’s Richest Woman Dies

Liliane Bettencourt, the L’Oréal heiress and the world’s richest woman, has died aged 94 at her home in Paris.

 

Battencourt was the daughter of Eugene Schueller who founded L’Oréal with an estimated fortune worth of around $50 billion this year.

 

Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, Bettencourt’s daughter, said in a written statement on Thursday that her mother ‘left peacefully’ overnight.

 

Chairman and CEO of L’Oréal Jean-Paul Agon said she “always looked” after the company and its employees and “she has personally contributed greatly to its success for many years.”
