Louis Vuitton Renews Contract With Nicolas Ghesquière

While some of the other high-profile brands are going through changes of leadership, Louis Vuitton is showing consistency with their vision for the house by renewing their contract with Nicolas Ghesquière.

 

Under his creative direction, the Maison has seen an growth in the women’s wear and leather goods categories making it the go-to brand among fashion editors and style stars.  Ghesquière’s ability to set trends and create must-have items continues to position Louis Vuitton as one of the leading luxury houses that all the cool kids want to wear. Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer of LVMH, said in a statement:

 

“I am very happy that we are continuing our Louis Vuitton women’s wear journey with Nicolas. He has been able to make the Louis Vuitton woman contemporary, resulting in major commercial successes. His vision, talent and creativity place him as one of the best designers in the world today.”

Ghesquière has been the brands Artistic Director for women’s collections for almost five years and has shared his excitement to continue working with the house, adding:

 

“Balancing an incredible heritage with a constant quest for innovation has always been an essential part of my work, it is also at the center of the history of this company and I look forward to further develop the codes we have implemented over the last years. I am very grateful to Bernard Arnault for the trust he places in me and to Michael Burke and Delphine Arnault for their ongoing stewardship on this beautiful journey.”

Michael Burke, chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, spoke of Ghesquière’s energy that his brings to the French luxury label and commented:

Next up for Ghesquière is the Cruise 2019 show at the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul de Vence, a village in the South of France, on May 28.
