Today, Mr Porter has launched its exclusive high Summer capsule collection with Tod’s. The range comprises a refined collection of 25 footwear and seasonal pieces designed by the Menswear Creative Director at Tod’s, Mr Andrea Incontri.
He said of the collaboration, ‘It’s exciting to collaborate once more with Mr Porter to create this special Tod’s capsule collection. The collection circulates around the brands iconic leather Gommino, the quintessential driving shoe and holiday staple. It branches from this key piece into a comprehensive offering of summertime pieces that capture the spirit of the Tod’s and the Mr Porter customer. The colour palette is an effortlessly stylish mix of blues, reds and whites over ready-to-wear pieces, accessories and shoes.
Key pieces in the collection include an updated version of the Gommino in a variety of colours; timeless and luxurious suede bomber jackets in various shades of blue; a beautifully crafted suede leather tote with rubber pebble detailing at the edges; and a range of printed swim shorts with co-ordinating statement camp collar shirts, reminiscent of a 1950’s pool party in Italy.
Fiona Firth, the Buying Director at Mr Porter, has said that the exclusive collection has been something the retailer has had their sights on for a while; ‘Since launching the Tod’s ready-to-wear business in 2015, we have wanted to work on an exclusive collection to celebrate the brands Italian roots and give our customer a collection which exudes the Mediterranean summertime, which Andrea has done so wonderfully.
