Prince William has officially began his tour of the Middle East in Jordan where he was welcomed by the Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah.

The British royal will be visiting for two days before continuing his store and in that time he was shown Crown Prince’s Foundation, which is committed to building a bright future for Jordan’s youth, and toured the TechWorks Fabrication Lab.

Throughout the day, the Duke of Cambridge managed to avoid hearing any news of the World Cup England game against Panama and instead watched it with the Crown Prince in the Beit Al Urdun Palace. It seems like the pair enjoyed the game, especially Prince William with England team winning 6-1.

He publicly thanked Crown Prince Hussein on Twitter, writing, “The welcome that The Crown Prince showed me today is one that I will always remember, and which I hope to be able to reciprocate one day in the UK.”

Prince William, who is second in line to the British throne, will stay in Jordan today and then visit Palestinian territories in the occupied West Bank. He is the first senior British Royal to make an official visit to the region.
