San Francisco residents Roth Martin and Stephen Hawthornthwaite were given a stack of water bottles, a heap of carbon-free recycled rubber and a raft of recyclable foam and they came up with their new brand Rothy’s, a shoe company that prides itself on being environmentally responsible.

Here’s how it works: A 3-D knitting process almost completely obliterates waste, the results are breathable footwear than can be popped in the washing machine, so they will look brand spanking new for a long time. And if they don’t, Rothy’s have arranged a place for you to send them, free of charge, to be recycled when they have come to the end of their shoe-life cycle.

They are also adorable and stylish. They look great with smart and casual outfits. They are available in two silhouettes, whose names signify their best attributes—the Flat and the Point. They come in 17 shades and prints. See for yourself!
