There is sense of change blowing through the fashion world when it comes to showcases and Salvatore Ferragamo is the latest brand to combine women’s and men’s collections.

Be it down to the pressures of presenting multiple ranges throughout the year, customers interest in more non-gender specific pieces or the departure of some leading creative directors from the top fashion houses – more and more brands are choosing to unify their collections including Coach, Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein and Bottega Veneta.

So Ferragamo will skip the men’s calendar and instead show both lines during Autumn/ Winter 2018 Milan Fashion Week in February. The new format is in line with the brand’s strategy to have two shows a year rather than four.

This follows the recent appointment of Paul Andrew’s as creative director of womenswear, after he joined the brand as footwear director in September 2016.
