Eid and Ramadan kaftan collections by the likes of Oscar de la Renta will also be on display, while familiar local names like Faiza Bouguessa will present the high-end abayas alongside other key designers from the region. Director of the museum, Max Hollein, said in a statement:

“There are those who believe that there is no fashion at all among Muslim women, but the opposite is true, with modern, vibrant, and extraordinary fashion scenes, particularly in many Muslim-majority countries.”

If you’re heading over to the US for New York Fashion Week, hop on a plane to California to check out the exhibit from September 22.
