Rami Al Ali’s first spring/summer 2016 showcase in the Middle East was unveiled on Sunday 13th March in the lavish venue of the Rosewood, Abu Dhabi. Rami Al Ali held a private preview of his spring/summer 2016 couture collection in celebration of the two weeks Middle Eastern showcase.

VIP guests were chauffeured by the international car service Uber and were welcomed into the exquisitely ornamented Majlis lounge, where tables were elegantly decorated with delicate flower arrangements from Maison des Fleurs. The award winning architect and designer Viktor Udzenija designed the concept of the eye-catching set that was positioned in the centre of the room, showcasing the collection that was magnificently displayed on mannequins; each dressed in one of the SS16 couture designs.

The stunning collection was inspired by Moorish artistry.  Volume was highlighted as layers of satin and brocade fabrics were beautifully formed together to create exaggerated tulles adding drama and mystery to the collection. Tulip skirts are architecturally designed with a nod to the 1960s, whilst time-honoured techniques are incorporated to modernise the classic embroidery. Floor length gowns artfully cascaded in luxurious brocades and two-tone satins, effortlessly finished with gazar and gold lames.

During the evening, guests sipped on signature cocktails and indulged on delicious canapés, while networking among some of Dubai and Abu Dhabi’s leading VIPs and socialites. The perfect ambiance was created by an exclusive playlist incorporating a mix of Arabian lounge and Moorish music transforming his guests into a befitting surrounding for the occasion.

The exclusive showcase is being held at the Majlis lounge, ground floor of the Rosewood hotel, Abu Dhabi until March 24th 2016.
