Unveiling Harvey Nichols Dubai new Ramadan collections

This Ramadan, Harvey Nichols Dubai reveals the latest collections from the regions most on-trend designers. Harvey Nichols Dubai welcomes the third phase of regional designers pop-up featuring an exciting mix of collections that are fearlessly stylish and on-trend.

This phase will feature exquisitely crafted collections from Bina Modi, All Things Mochi, Reemami, Mira Hayek, Dee by Dalia, Ayesha Depala and Dima Ayad. These quintessential designers will be unveiling their AW16 collections exclusively at Harvey Nichols-Dubai. The temporary pop-up boutique, which launches on June 2, will merge traditional eastern and western sensibilities, inspiring the timeless woman to dress with effortless style.

Bina Modi

Bina makes soft, luxurious, 100 per cent hand embroidered clothing in a world increasingly run by machines. Each stitch is a tribute to Indian craft, particularly to the tradition of Parsi Gara embroidery. It’s a timeless collection that suits all ages. Her special pieces can be worn at parties, holidays and the office.

All Things Mochi

Ayah Tabari, designer and founder of All Things Mochi is influenced by different cultures and eccentric traditional fabrics. Mochi is a brand that begins with a journey using ancient embroidery textiles and craftsmanship to create modern silhouettes, effortlessly merging eastern and western sensibilities. Each collection is inspired by various travel destinations.

Mira Hayek

Mira Hayek is a Lebanese designer who finds her inspiration from graphic design, lifestyle, electronic music, the ‘80s and animation.  She has a graphic design, fashion and textiles background and experience working with Elie Saab and Erdem. In 2011, she was selected by the STARCH foundation to design her first ready-to-wear collection under her own label “mirahayek”. Her collections consist of chic urban wear pieces with bold graphic cuts, geometric patterns, playful colour and print combinations.

Dima Ayad

Dima Ayad is a Lebanese fashion designer based in the UAE . Growing up in the region, Ayad witnessed a gap in the market for accessible fashion that could relate to a variety of women, with this in mind, she established her eponymous label in April 2010. Her clothes are a celebration of the female form regardless of shape or size.

Reemami

Reema Al Banna is the young designer and owner of the UAE-based award winning fashion line Reemami, an eclectic, bold and playful fashion brand. Born and raised in the UAE, Reema began her career as a graphic designer before pursuing her passion for haute couture, she did a two year fashion course at the prominent French Fashion University in Dubai, ESMOD, before launching her dream label Reemami in 2009. A brand for the young and young at heart, Reemami’s ethos is fun, optimism, positivity and creativity. The brand identity is shaped by Reema’s love for creativity, through having unexpected cuts and details, and treating each item as a piece of art. Reema also has a huge passion with experimenting with new cuts and creating new volumes, which gives her line its signature style. The individuality of Reemami has been acknowledged by fashionistas and critics, who have described the brand as ‘a breath of fresh air to Dubai’s fashion scene’.

Dee by Dalia

Born in Lebanon, Dalia El Ali moved to the UAE where she continued her education  before moving back to Lebanon to receive her Bachelors of Art in Finance from American University of Beirut. Dalia continued her education at London College of Fashion where she studied Fashion Design. She returned to Dubai to create a ready-to-wear collection called Dee by Dalia. Dee by Dalia is all about fun, playful pieces with a twist of her own personality and style, gaining inspiration from all things she loves and inspires her, from vintage pieces to butterflies and ballerinas.

Ayesha Depala

With her whimsical couture and bridal gowns, and more recently, ready-to-wear attire, UAE-based Ayesha Depala is a design force to be reckoned with. Ayesha Depala is all about being feminine and soft, sensual and timeless, but with an underlying element of forward-thinking. Her inspiration comes from ancient Indian crafts and textile, which is heavily reflected in her couture line, whereas prêt-à-porter remains soft with a strong street-savvy style. It’s the marriage of feminine sensibility with a sensual feel. She likes to use soft feminine fabrics such as lace and chiffon but then work them into a stronger silhouettes.
