Miracle on 34th Street

This film combines two of our favourite things – shopping and Christmas. The plot circles around a department store Santa Claus who turns out be a real deal.

 

Love Actually

One A&E editor is particularly enfatuated with this film and makes it a tradition to watch it at least three times in a lead up to the holidays. Based in London, Love Actually follows the lives of eight very different couples in various loosely interrelated tales that looks at various forms of love.

 

Scrooged!

One of Bill Murray’s best roles as a cold-hearted TV exec discovering the true meaning of Christmas in a wild spin on Dickens’s A Christmas Carol.

 

The Holiday

With a cast consisting of Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz and Jude Law, this stylish and light-hearted film follows the lives of two women who decided to house swap over the holidays.

 

Home Alone

A classic and a must-watch this Christmas day. Kevin McCallister gets left behind as his family fly off on their vacation which leads him to coming up with some creative ways of protecting his home from two burglars. For some reason people getting hurt makes you laugh time and time again.

 

Elf

If you don’t know Buddy the Elf, it’s time to get on board with one of the most joyful Christmas films to be made in recent times. Will Farrell takes on a role of a very tall elf who heads to New York City to find with his dad. Warning, involves a lot of spaghetti covered in chocolate sauce and sweets.
