A&E Guide To Art Dubai 2018

The region’s biggest galleries and artists from across the Middle East and South Asia are coming back to feature their best works at the 12th Annual Art Dubai.

Art Dubai initially started of as a trade fair for art collectors, and now has become an essential highlight on art fanatic’s yearly agenda.

 

This year, 105 galleries from 48 countries are bringing their one-of-a-kind art pieces to the halls of Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, hosting of diverse activities, workshops and talks; there is something for everyone.

 

Here’s our guide to the annual art fair:

 

March 22:

Global Art Forum

 

Join the Global Art Forum in a morning discussion on the future job market and how artists are adapting to those new technologies as they experiment with voice, text, electronic music and vocal processing.

 

March 23:

The Contemporary Gallery

Tour the  various gallery spaces to discover the art from all over the world. Afterwards, don’t miss an afternoon chat between Philosopher and writer Aaron Schuster as they discuss why AI is usually portrayed in popular culture as murderous at 2 PM, and then 4:30 PM head to Cinema Akil section as they will organize a series of sci-fi genre films.

 

Of course don’t forget to head to the restaurants in Madinat Jumeirah to contemplate over all what you have seen and experiences.

 

March 24:

On the last day of the exhibition, don’t miss to discover the works of the Abraaj Group Art Prize.

 

Note: If you have children, a great idea is to enroll them in a workshop while enjoy the art without any distraction.
