Design Ras Al Khor (DRAK), returns to Dubai Design Week 2017 with its 3rd edition scheduled to showcase for a full week, from November 13.

DRAK announced its official partnership with ECAL University, an Art & Design University in Switzerland, and for the second time around they will also partner with the Paris-based Eyes on Talent– a digital platform that collaborates with innovative brands and creative talents.

Co-founded by three designers, Khalid Shafar, Khulood Thani and Nadine Kanso; DRAK goal is to be the ultimate design movement that motivates design research and innovation.

“The designers will are invited and profiled on The Eyes Of Talent platform as part of this partnership, offering them great exposure to a global audience. We expect more products this year than installations and more personal objects than public works. The products that will be created will carry historical references to luxury and will be designed to facilitate a luxury-lifestyle and made for luxury use regardless of the materials they are made of. We are excited to see the final products this year,” co-founder of DRAK,  Khalid Shafar explained.

The exhibition’s theme of ‘Industry To Luxury’ will explore recreated luxury products made out of industrial and mass-produced materials coming straight from Ras Al Khor.

DRAK 2017 will  represent four UAE-based emerging designers, including Aya Al Bitar, Omar Nakkash, Ammar Al Attar and Farah Nasri; where their designs will be displayed in two designated spaces at Ras Al Khor Industrial 1 Area-  one at The Gallery space and another at The Warehouse.
