Phoebe Philo Is Back, But Not As You Expected

Ever since Phoebe Philo exited Céline, the fashion world wondered what the designer is going to do next.

The Philophiles among us hoped that maybe she will launch her own label, especially as many found it hard to accept Hedi Slimane’s vision for the French brand. Philo has stayed quiet the last few months, but now we finally know what she’s been getting up to.

Before you get too excited, it has nothing to do with fashion, but the world of art is not too far apart from design and it’s been announced that she will be taking part in a panel during Engadin Art Talks.

The former Céline creative director will be at the 2019 edition of the festival held in the Alpine ski resort of Zuoz, Switzerland. Running through January 26 and 27, it will welcome experts from creative worlds including artists, designers, architects, scientists and writers to tackle the theme “How Do Gravity And Grace Define Current-Day Life In The Digital Age?”

The British designer will be joined on stage by photographer Juergen Teller, who notably shot most of Philo’s campaigns during her 10 years at Céline, alongside choreographer Cecilia Bengolea, musician Anthony Moore, architect Arno Brandlhuber and artist Lena Henke.

We expect the Philo effect to boost the ticket sales.
