Christmas traditions

Lara Mansour, Editor In Chief

What I love about Christmas Day is family gatherings and the festive mood. But topping it all is the sparkle in my kids’ eyes and happy moments opening Santa’s gifts.

Lindsay Judge, Deputy Editor

What I love most about Christmas day? Eating too much of my mum’s Christmas dinner and falling asleep on the sofa surrounded by my family.

Charline Deek, a&e Arabia Editor

My Favourite Christmas tradition is going back home to Lebanon and attending church at midnight on Christmas eve. On the 25th, our whole family gathers and it will be extra special this year as it will be Alexandre’s (our son) first Christmas.

In Russia we don’t celebrate on the 25th, but growing up in the UK has made me a Christmas obsessive. From over decorating, cooking too much food, watching our favourite movies to sharing gifts with loved ones, it’s the feeling of gratefulness that takes over, no matter where in the world we’re celebrating.

What I liked about Christmas when I was young, is that it’s the same day as my father’s birthday, so the cake is a must. Family and friends gather, sometimes we used to go and see how people are celebrating in streets, with lights and songs. These days with my family, we keep it casual and stay at home opening gifts.
