Here we chat with the Lebanese-based wedding maker as he tells us more about his conception of weddings- a world where he can turn a dream into a true reality.

How did you get into the weddings & planning events business?

I found my Passion in designs. Designing an empty area, creating and transmitting another person’s vision brought to me happiness. The extreme pleasure was while adding a bit of challenge to the project. It all started when I wanted to mix architect and beauty into events. Inventing and creating ambiances and a whole story behind every events. I tried to melt both for a mixture of events planning and designing that’s why we are not only wedding planners we are designers. We also plan in order to have control over our events. My aim is to put dream into reality.

What do you feel are the most important elements to a complete wedding or event?

It’s important to live the wedding and enjoy it along…. if my bride and groom don’t enjoy it themselves, how will guests enjoy it? Tailor made weddings or events have to be done with passion before anything. We follow up our clients throughout a long period, sometimes six months or a whole year… sharing special moments, becoming integrated into the families, and the bonding is magical. We become friends, and we enjoy every moment. This is something no one can teach one. It cannot be taught or transmitted. It’s just a tip to revive the deepest passions inside of you in order to achieve your best results from the heart, and not only by a series of techniques. Emotions have to be involved to make the best personalized events. If you don’t put in a bit of your heart, it would still be missing this unique touch coming from deep inside your guts. At the end, this matters a lot more than material and techniques. This is the human touch no one can offer but you and only you.

What are the wedding trends this year? Do you follow them?

I follow them by travelling around the world for a universal creativeness and endless development, I actually don’t follow the trend, and I just get inspired by the trend icons and I have to remain continually exposed to the latest in creative event trends. It is a process of continuous research, and learning, and seminars, in order to stay up to date with every news, from location to materials used. I try not to follow it for the uniqueness of each wedding or event. I create the pantone color accordingly. For example this year we are attentive to the Purple shades colors.

What tips do you have for brides planning their wedding today?

It’s very essential to really go and see a wedding designer or planner in order to organize somehow their mind thoughts. It’s a whole process, it is a life time project, to get something out of it and well done. The bride should choose a wedding designer close to her heart.

You have executed extravagant events all over the world. What are your ultimate favorite places to plan an event or a wedding?

Yes I already did, each seasons has its own preferred wedding if I can say! It depends, it can be a huge wedding in Abu Dhabi … or another one in south of France in a special place for a whole memorable weekend, or in the charming Paris, in Beirut, each wedding has a story and in each story I have love in it.

Describe your favourite kind of wedding?

By presenting only the highest level of creativity and personalized services to come up with the most remarkable designs is my favorite kind of wedding. Specifically working in huge venues where we can have comfortable décor and beautiful ambiance to create a whole story behind it.

If you weren’t an event planner, what other profession would you have liked to be?

I wanted to be a cloth designer.

Who was your first huge client you ever planned an event for?

We had the pleasure to design a wedding in Abu Dhabi for a Cheikha. We built a 6000sqm tent in a specific empty land. She requested the tent to be without any column at all. After 2 months of work for the full setup, we created the whole tailor-made tent that received 3,500 guests the day of the wedding, this will be marked forever as the special space created only for this moment, and that no one would have used before or after.

What does a perfect event/wedding mean to you?

Beautiful wedding, very well organized, having originality and new spirit without repeating any old design where people are shining, where the bride and groom look fabulous and they feel like they fit the wedding. At the end of the day, we are designing the atmosphere, the décor, but they are the main characters inside this setting and they have to be utmost comfortable for them to shine in their own personalized magical word.

What’s on Toni Briess’ Agenda?

We are looking forward for a very promising season this year in Beirut, Paris and Riyadh. I am very happy about it and meanwhile I am working on launching my third candle scent signed Toni Breiss. I already launched 2 scents: ‘’Coeur de Pivoine’’ and ‘’Ambre Noir’’.
