Heading to Holland this winter? You’re in for a visual treat like no other.
Amsterdam’s annual festival of light will be opened by Holland’s Princess Beatrice on 28 November and run until 17 January. Focused around the theme of friendship, the signature work is by Swedish artist Aleksandra Stratimirovic who will recreate the Northern Lights across the Amstel river. It will be one 38 light sculptures and projections from Dutch and international artists.
Visitors can take in this very special event by canal boat or by foot, with special guides available to light your way – some of the projections you can even walk through – Amsterdam, or any capital, has never looked so pretty.
