88 elephants can now be found right in the centre of Bangkok. Elephant statues that is, which make hop the world’s largest open air art exhibition – the Elephant Parade, to celebrate the world’s longest reigning monarch, Thailand’s HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej, turning 88.
The Elephant Parade has trooped all over the world and each showcase is auctioned off by Christies each year to raise money for the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation who fund projects like the first elephant clinic in Chiang Mai. Artists range from Paul Smith to DJs, acts and sculptors. It’s supported by Anantara Hotels Resorts & spas.
