The supermodel body might seem like a distant dream, but Elle Macpherson gave us hope after sharing how she changed her diet after 50.
In conversation with New Beauty the model discussed the transition she went through after celebrating her 50th birthday, saying:
“I started to put on weight around my waist and hips, which was never my thing before. My legs started to get heavy. I started to feel lethargic.”
Lucky for us, the shift she made in her lifestyle is easy to implement in your day to day life. After consulting with a nutritionist, Macpherson tried the plant-based alkaline diet and cut back on sugar, wheat and animal by-products.
“What I’d always thought were sunspots—actually, they were sugar spots— started to clear, and my skin looked tighter, dewier and plumper,” she added. “I started to lose weight, probably because my sugar cravings had subsided. My digestion improved. I felt more emotionally balanced.”
