To make the most of British Airway’s new route to Lima, Peru should be on your bucket list. And there’s endless ways to see the country – here’s how you do it.

Luxury homegrown spa and hotel brand Inkaterra has launched a new detox tour with a four day ‘Strip back and rebuild’ retreat staying in their four hotels that include a digital detox in the rainforest followed by a retreat to iconic Machu Picchu.

If you fancy doing something more active then Amazonas Explorers has a hiking trip over a week that takes in Machu Picchu plus Cusco and everything in between, in its ‘Hike the highlights’ tour.

For a more extensive hike Walks Worldwide have put together an eigh night trek, ‘SalkantayTrek’ which takes in all the main sights as above and then the southern flank of Peru’s tallest mountain before descending through cloud forests and coffee plantations – it’s hard work but it’ll be worth it.

Finally if you’d rather get wet than walk, Into Latin America has a 10 day rafting adventure on the Tambopata river. It will also include paddle boarding and takes in some of Peru’s most authentic sights, viewed peacefully from the river.
