NEW YORK FASHION WEEK AW17: NAEEM KHAN

Yesterday, Naeem Khan’s Fall 2017 Ready-To-Wear Collection proved that the designer was indeed gearing his line to a more contemporary and younger audience. From the influencers and bloggers sitting in the front row, to the metallic textures and exposed lingerie, this collection oozed fresh and modern sophistication with a mix of urbanity and ethnicity.

The show kicked off with several embellished, monochrome pajama looks, featuring statement necklaces and exposed, sheer bras. The collection then took a more colourful turn in the form of vibrant, floral embroidered looks and leopard prints, featuring thigh high boots, jumpsuits and further pajama style pieces. Garish colours followed suit with several form fitting gowns and a stunning fringe mini dress.  The show closed with some visually spectacular gowns, featuring heavy embellishments and shiny gold and silver metallics, ending with a goddess inspired showpiece.

Naeem Khan ensured that his collection provided plenty of versatile staples and the majority of his looks featured over-sized, statement jewellery and eye catching metallics and embellishments. A visually stunning collection, with more of a focus on motifs and silhouettes. Different from his usual style, yet it worked and managed to create a real excitement, particularly towards the end of the show.
