Dior welcomes a new line to its Fine Jewellery collection
For her latest collection, Victoire de Castellane has created something shiny and new by pulling together different elements of the old.
The French jewellery designer – who started her career alongside the late Karl Lagerfeld – took elements from her signature fine chains and precious stones of Mimioui and the delicate, twisted rice grain settings of Rose des Vents when designing Mimirose.
One range acts like a collection talismans and lucky charms – after Christian Dior said himself in his memoirs that he was a “superstitious by nature” adding that he would “always look around for a piece of wood to touch,” while the second is the kind of jewellery that is exchanged for special occasions, becoming family heirlooms exchanges between loved ones over the years
The hybrid of the two also subtly acts as a tribute to Dior Joaillerie – a coffee table book that pays homage to the wonders of the world of fine jewellery – as its 20th anniversary comes around., and works perfectly for layering together. Mix and match within the collection itself, or layer it upon your favourite from the Dior Fine Jewellery collections that inspired newcomer Mimirose.
