DIAMOND OUTRANGE

For 2017, boasting the power of her predecessors and hundreds of brilliant-cut diamonds, Audemars Piguet presents Diamond Outrage – the third and final design in the trilogy of one-of-a-kind Haute Joaillerie timepieces.

After 2015’s Diamond Punk and 2016’s Diamond Fury, Diamond Outrage is a cuff watch of rare, explosive style that marks a shift in artistic Haute Joaillerie watch design. It is presented in two unique 18-carat white gold pieces, fully set either with diamonds or with blue sapphires.

Diamond Outrage’s structure is set with precious stones in a brilliant array of cuts. On the full diamond version, the inclusion of three baguette-set spikes shines a vibrant light on the outrageous character of this futuristic design. Diamond Outrage’s distinctive glittering spikes in varying sizes (ranging from 29.30mm to 40mm) are created using the snow setting technique, where diamonds are set so carefully close together that the jewel’s white-gold frame is rendered almost invisible, creating a spellbinding, luminous effect.

ROYAL OAK FROSTED GOLD

As the women’s Royal Oak celebrates its 40th anniversary, Audemars Piguet unveils the new Royal Oak Frosted Gold. A shining reinvention of an iconic design, this contemporary timepiece available in both white gold and pink gold has been created in collaboration with Florentine jewellery designer, Carolina Bucci.

This year, the Le Brassus Manufacture honours the style and character of the female designers who have contributed to the Royal Oak legacy: from Jacqueline Dimier who reinterpreted Gérald Genta’s initial 1972 model and imagined the first Royal Oak for women in 1976, to Carolina Bucci today.

The launch of the Royal Oak Frosted Gold enriches Audemars Piguet’s tradition of experimenting with jewellery techniques. The defining feature of the Royal Oak Frosted Gold resides in its shimmering sparkle, which in turn comes from a surface treatment process rooted in an ancient gold hammering technique, also called the Florentine technique. Carolina Bucci has reinterpreted this technique in jewellery design today while Audemars Piguet’s experts developed it into a horological craft suited to the unique case and bracelet construction of the Royal Oak.

By beating the gold with a diamond tipped tool, it creates tiny indentations on the surface that give a sparkle effect similar to that of precious stones, like diamond dust. In recent years Carolina Bucci has been using this effect in a bolder way on large cuffs and pendants, highlighting the finish more than any other part of the design.

ROYAL OAK QUARTZ

Audemars Piguet presents a new women’s Royal Oak with a uniquely gem-set look defined by a swirling diamond relief pattern that glides beyond the dial and bezel to the bracelet. At first seemingly random, the wave-like pattern of diamonds is precisely considered and set within the Royal Oak’s distinct design in the same way that an abstract painter might approach a canvas.

This newly introduced 33mm Royal Oak is available in either 18-carat pink gold or 18-carat white gold and demonstrates the typical Audemars Piguet blend of craftsmanship, originality and elegance.
