In Autumn 2007, a museum dedicated to the work of Yves Saint Laurent will open in Marrakech and will be suitably located on the Rue Yves Saint Laurent, close to the Jardin Majorelle. The new museum will house permanent creations of the designer’s as well as exhibitions on rotation. The museum will also feature a library, restaurant and a cafe as well as some amazing and unique architecture, designed by French architectural firm Studio K. The style of the impressive building will be in keeping with the designer’s creative approach, as well as the city’s cultural and scenic backdrop. “The Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech succinctly mixes two universes which we know well, and which we both hold particularly dear: Morocco and fashion,” Studio KO said in a statement. “It is a great pleasure to work alongside the Foundation Pierre Bergé – Yves Saint Laurent on such an ambitious project and contribute in our own way to the legacy of the most influential fashion designer of the 20th century.”
