Aldar Properties has announced that it will be opening a new Mandarin Oriental Residences in Abu Dhabi.
Designed by Danish architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group, these 226 luxury residences signal a bold addition to the UAE’s most vibrant cultural neighborhood. Sales for the new properties will open to buyers on the 21st of November.

Positioned to appeal to luxury buyers, the residences sit at the heart of the Saadiyat Cultural District, steps away from the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the soon-to-open Guggenheim Abu Dhabi. Mandarin Oriental, a brand known for its seamless blend of Asian influence with local culture, will manage the property, extending its luxury lifestyle philosophy to homeowners.

Interior designer Lillian Wu has set the tone with an understated luxury that pairs earthy materials like wood and marble with sweeping floor-to-ceiling windows. Each residence is designed for an open feel, featuring minimalist lines softened by warm textures. The kitchen, geared toward refined entertaining, flows into the living space, while private terraces create an escape that is intimate but connected to the district’s cultural pulse.

“The attention to detail is clear from the moment you enter,” says Jonathan Emery, CEO of Aldar Development. “This is a luxury residence that aims to combine Mandarin Oriental’s hospitality ethos with the vibrancy of Abu Dhabi’s most important cultural landmarks.”

Beyond the architecture and interiors, the residences promise a slate of amenities curated to indulge and impress. Residents can access Mandarin Oriental’s renowned spa, a state-of-the-art gym, and even a Cake Shop offering delicacies from around the world. Social spaces include a stylish lounge, a library, and a theater, emphasizing Mandarin Oriental’s commitment to creating communal areas that extend the idea of home.

On Saadiyat Island, the appeal of this new luxury complex isn’t only about the high-end amenities but also the neighborhood. Saadiyat Cultural District has cultivated a reputation as a hub for art, history, and design. For residents, this means having world-class museums, the white sands of Mamsha Beach, and some of Abu Dhabi’s finest dining just minutes from their door.

According to Laurent Kleitman, Group CEO of Mandarin Oriental, the new residences are about more than just exclusivity. “Together with Aldar, we’re creating not just a prestigious address but also a residence that embodies the culture and elegance that makes this district remarkable,” he said.

In a groundbreaking celebration of public art, Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT Abu Dhabi) launches its inaugural Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial, titled Public Matter, a large-scale art initiative inviting over 70 contemporary artists from the UAE and around the globe.
Open now and running until 30th April 2025, this monumental exhibition aims to transform both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain with unique, site-specific installations that explore and redefine the notion of “public” in a modern Emirati context.
Celebrating Cultural Resonance in Public Spaces
The Public Matter theme challenges artists to rethink what it means for a space to be truly public, shaping their creations to reflect Abu Dhabi’s distinct blend of environment, architecture, and diverse communal life. By embedding installations throughout key locations—most notably in the bustling downtowns of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain—the Biennial fosters encounters that invite locals and visitors alike to explore art as an open and inclusive experience.
Highlighting the emirate’s commitment to creative growth, the event underscores Abu Dhabi’s ambition to become a cultural hub for the Global South. “Through the Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial, we provide a platform for the community to celebrate our cultural heritage and draw inspiration from contemporary artistry,” said DCT Abu Dhabi Chairman HE Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak. “Our goal is to ensure transformative, inclusive, and accessible art encounters for everyone in our community.”

A Dynamic Array of Artistic Expressions
The Biennial promises to enchant with installations that incorporate various aspects of urban and natural landscapes, each carefully crafted to engage the public in new ways. Highlights include Oscar Murillo’s ambitious 80-meter canvas along Abu Dhabi’s Corniche, a striking commentary on urban expansion, and Zeinab Alhashemi’s homage to the city’s Central Bus Terminal, which examines the interplay between nature and urban development. Other notable installations include Farah Al Qasimi’s auditory sculpture, a reflection on the ocean’s enduring influence, and Christopher Joshua Benton’s reimagining of the Carpet Souq, which enlivens this marketplace as a gathering space.
“This Biennial not only celebrates the city’s heritage but invites our community to form personal connections with our shared spaces,” said Rita Aoun, DCT Abu Dhabi’s Culture Sector Executive Director. “Our initiatives are designed to enrich the cultural identity of the emirate and strengthen the pride of residents, as well as provide visitors with a profound connection to the city’s unique narrative.”
Investing in Abu Dhabi’s Cultural Future
With an annual investment of over $35 million, Public Art Abu Dhabi stands as a testament to the emirate’s commitment to nurturing creative industries and cultural legacy. The Biennial, a key pillar of this initiative, will alternate each year with the Manar Abu Dhabi light art exhibition, which captivated over 650,000 visitors in its debut edition. Both exhibitions are a significant part of DCT Abu Dhabi’s vision to create immersive experiences that honor the emirate’s past while embracing its future.
By bringing diverse cultural expressions to life within the vibrant public spaces of Abu Dhabi, the Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial promises to be more than an art event—it is a celebration of the community, a dialogue across cultures, and a commitment to an inclusive artistic future.

For the autumn-winter season, Hermès Beauty has launched a limited-edition collection that seamlessly blends the ethereal hues of blue with the tactile allure of leather.
This marks a first for Hermès Beauty, uniting the brand’s signature lines—Rouge Hermès, Ombres d’Hermès, and Les Mains Hermès—into a single, cohesive story. This collection celebrates contrasts: warm and cool, tangible and intangible, all inspired by the shifting colours of a summer sky as it transitions to the crisp light of winter.
The central motif of the collection is blue, represented in shades from oceanic depths to stormy skies. Each piece in the collection carries this colour inspiration forward, complemented by the luxury of Hermès craftsmanship. The collection features three new shades of Rouge Hermès lipsticks, a refined Ombres d’Hermès eyeshadow palette, and a duo of Les Mains Hermès nail enamels, all designed to capture the interplay of light and texture.

Hermès has introduced three limited-edition Rouge Hermès lipsticks, each showcasing designer Pierre Hardy’s unique tri-colour cases in Bleu Lagon, Bleu Abysse, and Bleu Tempête. This season’s ultra-matte finishes evoke the velvety touch of leather, providing a sensory, luxurious experience. The shades include:
03 Beige Glacé: A pearlescent beige with hints of copper and pink.
23 Beige Doblis: A rich, clay-red tone that adds warmth to any look.
73 Rouge Nappa: A burgundy-tinted red that creates a sophisticated, sheer veil on the lips.
Creative Director Gregoris Pyrpylis describes this range as a crescendo of intensity, guiding the wearer from the golden warmth of fall to the gentle, cool embrace of winter.
The Ombres d’Hermès palette arrives in a white and gold case, carefully designed by Pierre Hardy, and features a quartet of shadows inspired by natural mineral tones. Within, shades of cobalt blue, soft khaki, sun-kissed brown, and luminous gold reflect the depth and mystery of the ocean. This palette invites the wearer to explore a multi-dimensional approach to eye makeup, embodying Pyrpylis’s vision of blue as a colour that adds profound depth to the eyes.

Rounding out the collection, the Les Mains Hermès nail enamels echo the mineral tones found in Hermès leather. Two sophisticated shades—81 Bleu Agate, a deep, stormy blue, and 83 Vert Bronze, a khaki-green with grey undertones—offer a refined finishing touch, suitable for day or evening wear.

Roger Vivier has revealed its latest campaign, featuring award-winning actress and friend of the House, Eva Green, in the second installation of the Vivier Express: “Travelling Icons”.
The campaign is a nod to Hollywood’s golden age with a modern twist, pairing the luxury French shoe Maison’s iconic designs with a cinematic narrative that blurs the lines between the corporeal and a dreamscape. Italian Directors Andrea Danese, Nicolangelo Gelormini, and Studio Paura partner with writer Andrea Danese for the latest work. Episode II unfolds aboard the Vivier Express, a luxurious train journey into noir-inspired mystery and intrigue.
The campaign marks the second episode of the Vivier Express series, conceptualized by Creative Director Gherardo Felloni, whose passion for high art and cinematic expression shines through in this continuation of a truly immersive campaign experience. Where Episode I featured Laura Dern in a world of elegance with playful undertones, Episode II veers into darker, more mysterious territory, adopting the aesthetics of classic film noir. Felloni, drawing inspiration from icons such as Lauren Bacall and Bette Davis, has cast Green as a modern-day femme fatale – a vision of elegance and enigma.

A Journey into the Depths of Mystery
As the train glides into dusk, viewers are invited into Green’s world. Dressed impeccably in a black tailored suit, striking red I Love Vivier heels, and carrying a Viv’ Choc bag, Green sits by her cabin window, immersed in a book. The Vivier Express itself is as much a character as the actress, embodying the era’s opulence and offering a glamorous, intimate backdrop to the unfolding mystery. Felloni’s vision here is nothing short of cinematic, with Green’s classic allure fitting seamlessly into a world of shadow and intrigue, each glance and gesture amplifying the film’s underlying tension.
The plot teases the audience with suspense: a mysterious presence, as elusive as Green herself, flickers in and out of view. The encounter is left deliberately ambiguous – an alter ego, perhaps, or a rival? The thrill lies in the unanswered questions. Viewers are never sure if the drama is unfolding in Green’s mind, or if the boundaries of her reality have started to dissolve. Surrealism and psychological tension punctuate the scenes, lending the campaign a sophisticated, dreamlike quality.

Celebrating Iconic Fashion Through Film
Eva Green was arguably the ideal choice for this role. Known for her fierce individuality and fearless fashion sense, Green’s career has seen her bring roles to life that are as layered as they are magnetic. “It’s been my absolute pleasure to work with Gherardo Felloni. The first time I met him, it was a complete ‘coup de foudre’ (love at first sight) for the wonderful man and his beautiful shoes! I was delighted to be cast in his film for Roger Vivier and look forward to sharing it with audiences,” Green shares, her enthusiasm for the project palpable.
Meanwhile, Felloni emphasizes the allure of classic noir. “Films noir have always fascinated me. It’s a world where shadows speak, and every glance hides a secret. I wanted Eva to be our modern-day femme fatale; she doesn’t just wear the shoes and accessories – she brings them to life, infusing them with a sense of danger and desire.” Green’s presence, paired with the Maison’s signature creations, does just that. She transcends fashion, embodying a timeless elegance that mirrors the allure of Roger Vivier’s own designs.
Audemars Piguet, the iconic Swiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturer, has unveiled three exquisite new timepieces crafted in close collaboration with collectors in the Middle East.
With this series, Audemars Piguet not only pays homage to the region’s deep appreciation for luxury watchmaking but also introduces innovative materials and design elements inspired by Middle Eastern aesthetics.

The series was conceptualized during the brand’s first-ever “Create the Extraordinary” workshop held in Dubai in June 2022. Here, collectors were invited to collaborate directly with Audemars Piguet’s design teams, providing creative input that reflects the region’s unique tastes and cultural motifs. Each of the resulting timepieces bears the engraved words “Special Edition” and “Create the Extraordinary” on its caseback, underscoring its exclusive status.
This new series exemplifies Audemars Piguet’s commitment to fusing age-old craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, resonating with Middle Eastern clients who seek sophistication, innovation, and heritage in their luxury timepieces.

The standout Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin brings titanium together with Bulk Metallic Glass (BMG) — marking a world-first for this complication. Used for the bezel, caseback frame, and bracelet studs, the palladium-based BMG lends exceptional durability and a brilliant, mirror-like finish, which contrasts sharply with the satin-brushed titanium. The vertically brushed ivory dial, adorned with Hindu-Arabic numerals, white gold hands, and rhodium subdials, features an intricate moon-phase indicator that complements the timepiece’s refined aesthetic.
This ultra-thin watch is powered by the celebrated Calibre 5133 movement, developed in 2018 and measuring just 2.9 mm thick. This groundbreaking movement design, a single-plane structure with integrated perpetual calendar functions, revolutionized ultra-thin watchmaking and can be admired through the sapphire crystal caseback. An exquisite rhodium-toned oscillating weight features an arabesque motif inspired by regional Middle Eastern designs, offering a final, luxurious nod to the collection’s origins.
For the first time, the Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked is available in a sleek white ceramic edition. This 41 mm marvel is defined by its technical complexity and aesthetic clarity, featuring a blue aventurine inner bezel that contrasts beautifully with its white monochrome case and bracelet. Rhodium-toned openwork, framed by polished white ceramic, reveals the intricate self-winding Calibre 3132 movement with its patented double balance wheel. This dual-balance system, first introduced in 2016, features two synchronously oscillating wheels for heightened precision and stability.
The dial is enhanced by white gold hour markers and blackened Royal Oak hands with luminescent insets for optimal legibility. Through the caseback, the rhodium-toned oscillating weight, seamlessly matching the movement’s tones, adds a final touch of elegance.
The 41 mm Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon combines black ceramic and stainless steel in a bold two-tone aesthetic, a first for this iconic collection. Its dial is crafted from meteorite, showcasing natural stratification for a unique texture and visual depth, complemented by grey and rhodium accents on the inner bezel and numerals. Rhodium-toned pink-gold hour markers and baton hands complete the sophisticated look, creating a harmonious and refined presence on the wrist.
The piece is driven by the Calibre 2950, a masterful combination of a selfwinding movement and a flying tourbillon designed to counteract gravity’s effects on accuracy. This modern horological marvel can be observed through the sapphire caseback, where Audemars Piguet’s renowned finishing techniques shine. A grey rubber-coated strap completes the piece, reflecting the Middle East’s balance of elegance and modernity.

In a celebration of Eastern aesthetics, Les Benjamins has launched a capsule exclusively available in Dubai for Fall-Winter 2024.
Titled “Eastern Punk” the curated pieces from the collection are presented with an evocative campaign shot by renowned photographer Prod Antzoulis and styled by Between Us Boys Studio, capturing the intensity and vibrance of this special drop.

Guided by the vision of creative director Bünyamin Aydin, the FW24 collection reimagines Turkish punk by drawing on the roots of this rebellious spirit. Aydin, who honours the pioneering influence of Tünay Akdeniz—the driving force behind Turkey’s 1970s punk scene—sees the collection as both homage and evolution. “Once you reconnect with your roots and the origins of how music genres started in your hometown, only then can you continue building new movements,” he explains. With Eastern Punk, Aydin reintroduces Turkish cultural symbols through a modern, cross-cultural lens.

This season’s line-up includes boundary-pushing silhouettes, gender-fluid designs, and rich, daring colours. An audacious colour palette shifts from fiery pinks, yellows, and reds to deep purples, burgundies, and blacks, creating a striking contrast that embodies punk’s bold essence. Intricate Turkish patterns come alive in outerwear, with trompe l’oeil effects blurring the line between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary artistry. Distressed finishes, asymmetry, and layered textures offer a nod to punk’s raw edge, while reimagined pleated skirts—available in various lengths and fabrics—encourage individual expression beyond conventional gender boundaries.

The visual language of Eastern Punk is steeped in cultural fusion. Iconic punk elements like zippers, studs, and torn edges meet the timeless motifs of Turkish calligraphy, ancient carpet patterns, and Eastern symbolism. Elements like patchwork detailing, seen on drainpipe jeans and suiting, are combined with leather outfits punctuated by safety pins. These pieces evoke the subversive aesthetic of punk album covers, while also paying homage to the opulence and history of Turkish heritage.

This collection achieves a singular balance—each piece serves as a sartorial intersection of history and avant-garde innovation. “Our focus is on creating pieces that can be enjoyed by all genders, and there’s nothing more rewarding than to be able to share our rich underground music community with the world,” explains Lamia Al-Otaishan Aydin, Les Benjamins’ womenswear design director.

The exclusive FW24 Dubai drop is available at Les Benjamins locations across Dubai, including at Dubai Mall and City Walk. It is also available on the Les Benjamins website.

In a masterful nod to its storied past and commitment to craftsmanship, Panerai has unveiled the Luminor Destro Otto Giorni PAM01655, a watch that balances tradition with cutting-edge design.
Inspired by the Italian Navy frogmen, who once relied on Panerai’s timepieces in critical military missions, this limited-release model embodies the brand’s dedication to rugged elegance and military heritage.
The PAM01655 draws on Panerai’s legacy of functionality, initially developed to meet the needs of military divers. Historically worn on the right wrist to allow the left-hand free movement, this “Destro” model has the crown positioned at 9 o’clock, paired with Panerai’s distinctive crown-protecting device. This innovation, originally introduced in the 1960s with the reference 6152/1, marked a significant leap in design for left-handed wearers and remains an essential part of Panerai’s identity today.

Crafted for modern adventurers, the Luminor Destro Otto Giorni features a polished 44mm steel case, scaled down from its military forebears for contemporary wearers. Inside beats the P.5000 caliber, a hand-wound movement with an impressive 8-day power reserve, echoing the durability and reliability required by naval commandos. This caliber’s design, complete with a traversing balance bridge and dual barrels, ensures stability even under pressure, offering superior shock resistance and chronometric accuracy.

For aesthetics, the watch boasts Panerai’s signature black sandwich dial with beige Super-LumiNova®, providing visibility in all lighting conditions. A sapphire crystal caseback reveals the intricate mechanics of the P.5000, showcasing 113 components and 21 jewels within its 15½-ligne frame. Waterproof up to 30 bar (~300 meters), the PAM01655 is crafted to withstand rigorous conditions, subjected to testing at pressures 25% higher than its official rating to guarantee performance.

Complete with a light brown calf leather strap and a secondary black rubber option, both fitted with a trapezoidal steel buckle, this watch is as versatile as it is refined. With exclusivity ensured, the PAM01655 is available starting November 2024 exclusively at Panerai boutiques.
Panerai’s Luminor Destro Otto Giorni PAM01655 is more than a timepiece; it is a meticulously crafted homage to Italian naval excellence, perfectly blending historical gravitas with luxury.
The refined elegance of the Henry Jacques perfume house meets the raw creativity of New York artist Heron Preston and his partner Sabrina Albarello in a collaboration that encapsulates emotion, memory, and passion in fragrance form.
For its second edition of “In All Intimacy,” Henry Jacques sought to bridge the worlds of bespoke perfume and modern art, translating the couple’s dynamic and shared artistic sensibility into two uniquely personal scents.

The connection between Preston, known for his multidisciplinary artistry and innovation, and Albarello, whose aesthetic resonates with authenticity and contemporary sophistication, sparked an olfactory journey that marries emotion with natural materials and unparalleled craftsmanship. Together, they have created two fragrances as distinct and complementary as their personalities, each exuding a presence that resonates on a deeply personal level.

Their journey with Henry Jacques began with intimate meetings in Paris, allowing the artists to share the core of their relationship and personal narratives. Guided by Anne-Lise Cremona, CEO of Henry Jacques, the couple delved into the intricate art of Haute Parfumerie, immersing themselves in a world where every ingredient tells a story and every fragrance evokes memory. Through collaboration and discovery, Preston and Albarello contributed to crafting “olfactive portraits” of their personalities, adding their own creative touch to each bottle. Preston’s fragrance reveals a fresh opening with Brazilian palmarosa, balanced by notes of rose, bergamot, and subtle spices, while warm notes of tonka bean and benzoin create a deep, earthy finish. Albarello’s fragrance, contrastingly, opens with warm spices of cinnamon and cardamom, settling into a harmonious blend of vanilla, white flowers, and woodsy notes that embody both elegance and strength.

Reflecting on the experience, Preston shared, “Creating a fragrance is about sharing a piece of yourself with the world, forging new connections and bringing intimacy into a shared space.” The couple hopes their perfumes will inspire an appreciation for the artistry of scent, blending their contemporary aesthetic with the time-honored traditions of Henry Jacques.
Now available online and at Henry Jacques boutiques globally, this latest edition in the “In All Intimacy” collection invites patrons to experience the evolving story of love and creativity embodied by two modern artists through a timeless medium: perfume.

In a mesmerizing celebration of jewellery and history, L’ÉCOLE Middle East, School of Jewelry Arts, has inaugurated its latest exhibition, Men’s Rings, Yves Gastou Collection, in the heart of Dubai Design District (d3).
This exhibition, the largest of its kind ever showcased publicly, features an astonishing 705 rings from the iconic Yves Gastou collection, offering an intimate look into the enduring allure of men’s rings across centuries and cultures. The grand opening welcomed distinguished figures from the worlds of art, design, and jewelry, bringing a heightened focus to this historic art form just in time for the 10th anniversary of Dubai Design Week, the region’s preeminent design festival.

The exhibition’s arrival in Dubai symbolizes a perfect blend of the emirate’s deep-seated heritage and its appetite for modern, global design. As Sophie Claudel, Director of L’ÉCOLE Middle East, noted, “Bringing the Men’s Rings, Yves Gastou Collection to Dubai is an honour. This collection resonates deeply with Dubai’s unique blend of tradition and modernity.” Reflecting on the remarkable turnout, Claudel added, “The vibrant art and design scene here is a testament to the shared appreciation for cultural heritage and craftsmanship that this city embodies.”

On display are rings curated by the late Yves Gastou, a celebrated French antique dealer who dedicated 40 years to collecting rings that span history, art, and culture. Gastou’s son, Victor, who was present for the unveiling, shared heartfelt insights about his father’s life’s work. “For my father, rings were magical,” he remarked. “He saw them not only as symbols of connection and power but as deeply personal artifacts that could transcend time.”

This collection, which began its journey in Paris in 2018 and has traveled through cities like Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, now finds itself in Dubai with an expanded array of pieces. New additions to the collection have been made exclusively for this exhibition, giving audiences an unmatched look at ring-making across centuries – from the sacred and ceremonial rings of ancient Egypt to contemporary designs of the modern world.

The exhibition’s scenography presents a visual and sensory journey inspired by Gastou’s eclectic tastes and deep fascination with the dramatic. Three themed rooms evoke distinct moods and experiences: the Dark Room mimics a nighttime street ambiance, the Red Room captures Gastou’s bold personality with vibrant reflections and striking red tones, while the White Room embodies a serene, minimalist space reminiscent of Gastou’s inner world. Carefully curated lighting emphasizes the intricate craftsmanship of each ring, illuminating their details in ways that highlight their history and artistry.

On a dazzling Tuesday night in Hong Kong, CHANEL showcased the house’s Cruise 2024/25 collection.
First unveiled in Marseille earlier this year, the collection seamlessly blended CHANEL’s hallmark codes with marine and metropolitan influences, set against the vibrant, modern backdrop of the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI).
The evening’s show was not only a celebration of CHANEL’s newest collection but also marked the launch of a three-year partnership between the House and the HKDI. This alliance underscores CHANEL’s dedication to education, creation, and the transmission of savoir-faire, opening doors for Hong Kong’s next generation of designers and creatives. Students will gain enriched access to the fashion industry and benefit from dialogues, workshops, and skill-building initiatives fostered by this partnership, aligning with CHANEL’s legacy of cultivating artistic and cultural exchange.

Upon arrival, guests were ushered into an immersive experience that set the tone for the evening. A custom-made film, Modern Flirt, directed by French filmmaker and CHANEL confidante Audrey Diwan, starred Hong Kong’s own Angela Yuen alongside French actor Benjamin Voisin. This cinematic creation explored themes of cultural flirtation and modern allure, elegantly paying homage to the lively intersection of East and West that CHANEL celebrates in Hong Kong.

Outside, on the institute’s forecourt, “Radio CHANEL” served as a cultural stage, blending voices of established and emerging local artists. Hong Kong’s finest creative figures—artists, performers, and House ambassadors—shared their insights, amplifying the themes of exchange and artistic collaboration. Guests had the opportunity to explore the HKDI gallery and preview Imagine an Elsewhere, an evocative exhibition spotlighting 35 HKDI students across design fields. Their collective creations offered a bold, forward-thinking vision of Hong Kong’s creative future, with the gallery set to remain open from the 7th of November to the 31st of December this year.

The post-show festivities transitioned to Shaw Studios, where a sunset-inspired atmosphere invited guests into a celebration of vibrant performances. The evening featured a debut duet between Belgian singer-songwriter Angèle and the French musician Sébastien Tellier, alongside a mesmerizing display by dancers from (LA)HORDE—the Ballet National de Marseille—and a special appearance by Hong Kong actress Nathalie Hsu. Local talent Kalai and DJ Yeti Out kept the energy high, embodying CHANEL’s vision of blending local artistry with international flair.

Among the prestigious attendees were CHANEL ambassadors Penélope Cruz, G-Dragon, Whitney Peak, Angèle, Caroline de Maigret, and a host of luminaries from Hong Kong’s cultural scene, including Chow Yun-Fat, Carina Lau, Fala Chen, and Stephen Fung. Icons from Hong Kong’s cinema, music, and design spheres mingled with CHANEL’s international friends, including actress Audrey Diwan and (LA)HORDE co-founders Marine Brutti, Jonathan Debrouwer, and Arthur Harel.

Hong Kong, known for its rich cinematic, musical, and design heritage, arguably provided the ideal stage for CHANEL’s celebration of movement, style, and innovation. The Cruise 2024/25 collection not only captured the House’s dedication to elegance and modernity but also underscored its commitment to the city’s thriving artistic spirit.

By bringing together a constellation of global and local talents, CHANEL reaffirmed its deep-rooted connection to Hong Kong—a city where East meets West in an ever-evolving dance of creative exchange.

The CHANEL Cruise 2024/25 show in Hong Kong has etched an indelible mark on the fashion landscape, standing as a tribute to the power of collaboration and the boundless possibilities that emerge when tradition meets modernity.
This season, Repossi redefines modern luxury with the launch of its Fall-Winter campaign for the Antifer Collection, an artful display of architectural rigour and refined craftsmanship rooted in the legacy of Place Vendôme.
With an aesthetic shaped by contemporary art and architecture, the Antifer Collection exudes elegance through radical minimalism and clean geometric lines, reasserting the House’s reputation for cutting-edge design and exceptional savoir-faire.

Repossi’s Antifer Collection, inspired by the angular cliffs of Normandy’s Cap d’Antifer, stands out as a tribute to beauty in simplicity. The collection’s characteristic lines and sharp angles are ingeniously complemented by delicate contrasts of positive and negative spaces, creating a visual harmony that makes each piece a work of art. The design evokes a feeling of restrained power, underscored by the collection’s insistence on absolute precision and the purity of form.

Crafted by hand in Italy, each piece in the Antifer line showcases Repossi’s dedication to time-honoured jewellery-making techniques. The artisans rely on the lost wax casting process, a meticulous approach where wax molds of each design are painstakingly shaped, cast, and finished. The intricate angles of the Antifer rings are preserved through precise, clean polishing, held in place by flame-welded gold pins. This intense attention to detail allows the signature points of Antifer to maintain their striking form—a testament to the Maison’s mastery over technical skill and creative vision.

Repossi’s connection to the world of contemporary art is as strong as ever, with this collection finding inspiration in iconic artists known for their use of colour and form, such as Donald Judd, Sterling Ruby, and Anish Kapoor. These influences are evident in the choice of stones and metals, carefully selected to reflect a bold and sophisticated colour palette. Like the art that inspires it, the Antifer Collection transforms simplicity into something powerful, using repetition and colour as subtle nods to the avant-garde.

The Fall-Winter campaign, which captures the timeless allure and sculptural elegance of the Antifer Collection, is a tribute to Repossi’s enduring dedication to artistry and heritage. Each piece embodies a blend of minimalism and complexity, making it a symbol of strength and elegance in contemporary high jewellery.

For those who appreciate jewellery that combines tradition with modernity, Repossi’s new campaign offers an invitation to discover the unique world of Antifer—where bold design meets unparalleled craftsmanship.
This November, Paris is not only home to the world’s premier photography fair, Paris Photo 2024, but also to an intimate celebration of a music icon whose voice transcended generations: Ray Charles.
In honour of the twentieth anniversary of the legendary artist’s passing, the Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris is unveiling a curated exhibition of photographs by Arlette Kotchounian, the esteemed French author-composer and personal friend of “The Genius.” These photographs, on display from the 5th to the 16th of November offer an exclusive glimpse into the private world of Ray Charles through the eyes of Kotchounian, capturing his essence in the very suite where he often stayed during his time in Paris.

For over half a century, Arlette Kotchounian has been a vital force in music and photography, her career characterized by an unparalleled proximity to some of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Born in 1942 in Paris, Kotchounian navigated the world of jazz, chanson, and soul with a rare sensitivity, working alongside icons like Sonny Rollins, Stevie Wonder, Mick Jagger, and Gilberto Gil.
Her journey as both an author and photographer brought her into the orbit of Ray Charles, with whom she collaborated and shared a profound friendship. Her photographic work with Charles became an extension of their shared love for music and art, an exploration that fused the visual and auditory into a deeply evocative legacy.

The Royal Monceau exhibition features five unpublished photographs taken by Kotchounian that capture Ray Charles in rare moments of repose, creativity, and introspection within the suite that now bears his name. The images are both a personal memory and a historical document, reflecting the rapport and trust that existed between the artist and his friend behind the lens.
In White Shirt IV (1985), for instance, Kotchounian’s meticulous framing brings Charles astonishingly close to the viewer, evoking an almost tangible familiarity. Her careful composition and play with light render a portrayal of Charles that is both intimate and iconic, as if we too are privy to his inner world. Another image, Flight Case (1985), presents Charles’s suitcase on an unmade bed—an evocative symbol of the transient life of a touring musician. The suite itself, Suite 714, mirrors this transitory existence, blending the luxurious with the personal, and transforming the hotel room into a sanctuary of nostalgia and quiet reflection.

Perhaps one of the most profound works in the series is Hands III (1997), a stunning close-up of Ray’s hands poised above the piano keys, frozen in a moment that suggests the music’s pulse even in silence. Kotchounian’s nuanced chiaroscuro technique in this image draws attention to the expressive potential of a single gesture, evoking the dynamic interplay between sound and stillness that defines her approach. In Loving You (1983), Kotchounian captures Charles’s sheet music, “I Can’t Stop Loving You,” casting the score in dramatic contrast. The photograph’s chiaroscuro effect brings to mind the smooth cadences of Charles’s melodies, with tonal subtleties that resonate much like his voice.
As viewers stroll through Suite 714, each photograph serves as a portal into the private world of Ray Charles, with Kotchounian’s signature style serving as a visual melody accompanying the life and legacy of one of music’s most cherished figures. More than a celebration of Charles’s life, this exhibition is a tribute to the unbreakable bond between two artists, forever intertwined through the lenses of sound and image.
This limited-time exhibition at the Royal Monceau invites us to experience Ray Charles anew, to see him not just as the famed “Genius” but as a man of warmth, soul, and striking intimacy. For those fortunate enough to visit during Paris Photo 2024, this homage promises a profound encounter with a legend, as captured by the lens of a true confidante.
