Tory Burch Honoured as WWD Women’s Designer of the Year at 2024 Gala
Tory Burch, the celebrated designer whose work has come to epitomize modern American elegance, was awarded Women’s Designer of the Year at the WWD Honors gala this week.
The award was presented at a star-studded evening that recognized fashion industry leaders and changemakers for their resilience, creativity, and influence in 2024.
The gala followed day one of WWD’s Apparel and Retail CEO Summit, which explored the theme, “The Power of Resilience,” a fitting tribute to an industry evolving amidst global challenges.
In the lead-up to the award ceremony, Burch joined her husband and business partner, Pierre-Yves Roussel, for a fireside chat with Jim Fallon, Chief Content Officer at Fairchild Fashion Group. Together, they discussed Burch’s vision for the future of luxury fashion, her commitment to women’s empowerment, and the evolving role of brand responsibility within the industry. Burch’s message echoed the summit’s theme as she highlighted her dedication to maintaining her brand’s core values while meeting the needs of a changing market.
The night’s festivities took a lively turn as actress and comedian Chloe Fineman took the stage to present Burch’s award. Fineman, a celebrated Saturday Night Live alum, delighted the audience with a light-hearted impersonation of Burch—a witty callback to her viral impression from September 2022. The playful moment added a touch of humor and warmth, underscoring the sense of camaraderie and admiration permeating the evening.
Photographed by Noa Griffel, Burch stood resplendent as she accepted her award. Her journey, from her early days on a Pennsylvania farm to her influential career in New York, reflects the all-American inspiration woven into her brand’s DNA. After studying art history at the University of Pennsylvania, Burch cut her teeth working for iconic names such as Zoran, Harper’s Bazaar , Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang, and Loewe. Her vast experience across the fashion and publishing sectors fueled her vision, leading her to launch her namesake brand in 2004 with a singular mission: to build a global luxury lifestyle brand rooted in purpose.
Today, Tory Burch LLC is synonymous with relaxed sophistication, a testament to Burch’s design ethos that draws on the effortless chic of American sportswear. Every piece in her collection is marked by craftsmanship, quality, and a timeless sensibility that resonates with a global audience. But beyond fashion, Burch’s legacy is one of impact. In 2009, she established the Tory Burch Foundation to support women entrepreneurs across the United States, offering them access to capital, educational resources, and a community of support. This pioneering model has become an industry standard for socially responsible brand-building, one that underscores Burch’s commitment to empowering women around the world.
With her recognition as WWD Women’s Designer of the Year, Tory Burch cements her role as not only a fashion innovator but also a champion for purpose-driven luxury. The honor celebrates her achievements in both design and social impact, recognizing a designer who has built a brand that resonates far beyond the runway. For Tory Burch, this is not just an accolade but a reflection of a career dedicated to resilience, authenticity, and the empowerment of women—a legacy that inspires and elevates the fashion world.
Piaget Unveils the Andy Warhol Clou de Paris Watch
In an extraordinary celebration of art, luxury, and horology, Piaget has launched the Andy Warhol Clou de Paris watch, a striking addition to the Maison’s legacy and homage to the unparalleled bond between Piaget and the legendary artist, Andy Warhol.
This exclusive timepiece, produced in collaboration with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, reimagines the famed Piaget “Black Tie” watch that Warhol famously wore. The new iteration combines Piaget’s luxurious craftsmanship with a fresh design, showcasing the intricate “Clou de Paris” hobnail pattern on its cushion-shaped white gold case and a mesmerizing blue meteorite dial—a nod to Piaget’s signature use of rare, ornamental materials.

Cuff watch and wristwatch Andy Warhol
The Clou de Paris technique, painstakingly perfected by Piaget’s artisans, presents a refined surface texture of tiny, pyramid-like squares, a hallmark of the brand’s style. This delicate finish, applied over a curved surface, captures and refracts light in a dynamic play that recalls Warhol’s vibrant spirit. Complementing the textured case is the blue meteorite dial, adding a celestial allure and further underscoring the watch’s distinctiveness.

At the heart of the new Andy Warhol Clou de Paris watch is Piaget’s own 501P1 Manufacture movement, which pairs technical precision with aesthetic elegance. Vintage-inspired dauphine hands and bold indexes offer a harmonious blend of old and new, while the generous 45mm case maintains the statement silhouette that collectors revere.

The Andy Warhol Clou de Paris watch is not only a collector’s piece but a tribute to an enduring partnership. Warhol’s connection to Piaget began in the early 1970s, when he acquired his first Piaget piece. His relationship with the brand grew over the years, solidified through his friendships within the Piaget Society and his presence at glamorous gatherings with Yves Piaget. The artist’s distinctive taste for luxury and avant-garde expression aligns seamlessly with Piaget’s own daring philosophy, a shared vision that is now immortalized in this namesake collection.

Through Piaget’s bespoke “Infinitely Personal” service, collectors of the Andy Warhol watch can select from a range of customizations, including exotic stone dials—such as malachite, turquoise, and falcon eye—as well as options in rose or white gold for the case. This personalization service invites clients to craft a timepiece that, much like Warhol’s art, resonates with individuality and sophistication.
The Andy Warhol Clou de Paris watch marks an exciting new chapter in Piaget’s horological legacy, echoing Warhol’s bold ethos and style. With only a limited number available, this unique timepiece is set to become one of the most coveted releases of the year, a true masterpiece for aficionados of both art and horology.

Fabergé and Tim Burton Unveil the Iconic Beetlejuice Egg Objet
In a groundbreaking collaboration that fuses the worlds of luxury and cinematic surrealism, Fabergé has partnered with visionary filmmaker Tim Burton to create a singular masterpiece: the Fabergé x Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Egg Objet.
This exclusive objet d’art captures the whimsical darkness of Burton’s Beetlejuice world, promising an extraordinary experience for collectors and fans alike when it is unveiled in 2025.
The Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Egg Objet is designed as a theatrical, one-of-a-kind piece that celebrates Burton’s signature gothic artistry. Drawing on the monochromatic aesthetics of the Beetlejuice films, Fabergé has incorporated iconic motifs such as coiling sandworms and monochrome stripes. The piece, led by Fabergé’s Creative Director Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell and Head of Design Liisa Tallgren, channels Burton’s world with rich references and intricate, surrealistic details.

Burton himself, a long-time admirer of Fabergé’s craftsmanship, expressed his excitement, saying, “I wanted to create a piece that was humorous and fun, while also honoring the brand’s legendary quality in movement and animation.” The egg, which opens uniquely in a synchronized top-and-bottom motion, will reveal a stunning gem-set wedding cake that rotates—a nod to the darkly comedic wedding scene from Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
In keeping with Fabergé’s tradition of adding unexpected surprises, the wedding cake conceals a customizable celebration ring featuring a 2.2-carat Mozambican ruby sourced from Gemfields. This precious touch offers a playful invitation for a truly memorable proposal, tying into Fabergé’s historical affinity for hidden treasures and intricate design.
Von dem Bussche-Kessell commented on the synergy between the two creative titans: “Peter Carl Fabergé was the original collaborator, always merging the highest level of creative brilliance with the best talent. Working with Tim and Colleen Atwood, who designed Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’s costumes, brought this shared vision to life in ways we couldn’t have imagined.”

Meticulously crafted by Fabergé’s artisans, the egg objet is imbued with pioneering craftsmanship and innovative engineering. A meticulous Workmaster based in southeast England oversees the intricate assembly, blending traditional techniques with cutting-edge design to create an unprecedented dual-opening mechanism that showcases both the inner and outer beauty of the objet.
The Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Egg Objet not only captures the avant-garde spirit of Burton’s work but also speaks to Fabergé’s legacy as the world’s most iconic jeweler. Since its founding in 1842, Fabergé has continuously innovated, captivating art connoisseurs and luxury enthusiasts with objets d’art that tell stories and commemorate cultural milestones.

In a new campaign to usher in the holiday season, Herrera Beauty celebrates the launch of Sandal Ruby, the latest fragrance in the Carolina Herrera Confidential Collection.
Captured in the Middle East, the campaign stars Carolina A. Herrera, Director of Beauty, who immerses us in the rich heritage and passion that the fragrance embodies. Sandal Ruby draws from the deep well of Middle Eastern perfumery, where strength, resilience, and luxury harmoniously converge, painting a sensory picture as vibrant as a jewel.

Rooted in the symbolism of rubies — delicate yet strong, one of the world’s most enduring gems — Sandal Ruby reflects these qualities through a powerful yet delicate blend. The fragrance masterfully balances woody accords of sandalwood and cedarwood with a milk accord that tempers and complements. Soft tuberose petals, Carolina Herrera’s iconic bloom, add luminosity, while spicy notes bring warmth, resulting in a scent that shines from within, evocative of the finest Middle Eastern perfumes. Each ingredient has been meticulously selected and refined, mirroring the polish of precious stones.

The essence of Sandal Ruby lies in its craftsmanship, making it not only a fragrance but a work of art. Like a precious ruby meticulously cut to reveal every nuance, each note in Sandal Ruby is chosen to highlight the richness and layers within. Carolina A. Herrera shares that this fragrance embodies both her personal history and her heritage. Her inspiration traces back to a vivid memory: a red dress gifted by her mother and a small ruby ring from her father, both marking her 18th birthday. Red, the quintessential colour of strength and allure, has been a hallmark of the Carolina Herrera brand since its inception in 1981, symbolizing sophistication, joy, and individuality.

More than just a fragrance, Sandal Ruby is an invitation to the art of scent layering, a ritual with deep roots in Middle Eastern culture. This fragrance, like all in the Herrera Confidential line, is unisex, encouraging wearers to create a unique, bespoke scent through mixing highly concentrated oils with couture-inspired fragrances. Carolina Herrera describes this ritual as “the new luxury,” where personal expression and high craftsmanship meet.
The timeless beauty of the ruby, with its allure and mystery, is at the heart of Sandal Ruby, which Herrera has transformed into an olfactory ode to elegance and joy.

Rolls-Royce Unveils A “Goldfinger” Inspired Phantom Extended Masterpiece
In a dazzling tribute to the cinematic legacy of “Goldfinger” and the world of bespoke luxury, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars unveils an extraordinary, one-off Phantom Extended edition honouring the 60th anniversary of the iconic James Bond film.
Showcased from their Goodwood, West Sussex headquarters, this unique creation is inspired by the 1937 Phantom III Sedanca de Ville, driven by the infamous character Auric Goldfinger, and is a luxurious reinterpretation that draws on the deepest elements of the *Goldfinger* story.

Every detail of the Phantom Goldfinger is steeped in the intrigue and allure of the original film. From the exterior’s unique gold hue and two-tone finish reminiscent of Goldfinger’s famed car, to 21-inch wheels with floating silver hubcaps, the Phantom embodies sophistication and legacy. However, the pièce de résistance lies within: a solid 18-carat gold bar housed in the centre console as a tribute to the villain’s love for the precious metal. Crafted with unparalleled attention to detail, even the Spirit of Ecstasy on the hood has a “gold reveal” effect—a glistening homage to Goldfinger’s own gold-smuggling plotline.

The Phantom’s interior features Royal Walnut picnic tables, exquisitely inlaid with a 22-carat gold map of Fort Knox, nodding to the thrilling Fort Knox sequence. The Starlight Headliner, comprised of 719 golden stars and eight “shooting stars,” mirrors the constellations over Switzerland’s Furka Pass on July 11, 1964, the final day of the scene’s filming. This level of bespoke engineering took a team of artisans over three years to perfect, bringing forth a vehicle that goes beyond mere transportation to become an immersive storytelling experience.

Chris Brownridge, Rolls-Royce’s Chief Executive, describes the Phantom Goldfinger as a testament to the brand’s dedication to artistry and its relentless pursuit of luxury. “This project invigorated our creative team, allowing them to push the boundaries of possibility. The outcome is a car that not only redefines luxury but celebrates the power of bespoke craftsmanship,” says Brownridge.

From a gold-plated golf putter mounted in the trunk lid—a nod to Goldfinger’s golf match with Bond—to umbrellas in the iconic harlequin colours and a VIN ending in 007, Rolls-Royce has masterfully encapsulated the *Goldfinger* legend. Concluding its homage, the Phantom Goldfinger bears the legendary “AU 1” license plate—a final touch that cements its status as a collector’s piece of historical and cinematic significance.

Through this one-of-a-kind Phantom Extended, Rolls-Royce cements its role as a purveyor of timeless luxury, creating not just cars, but icons. The Phantom Goldfinger is more than a tribute; it’s a tangible piece of film history that embodies Rolls-Royce’s unwavering commitment to craftsmanship, heritage, and imagination.

Set on the 51st floor, the exquisite Italian restaurant promises a dining experience that blends Italy’s timeless elegance with the glamour of Dubai, embodying the luxury of the Italian Riviera.
From lunch through to late-night soirées, Il Gattopardo promises to offer an escape, transporting guests to the sultry sophistication of 1960s Italy, inspired by the classic novel “Il Gattopardo” (“The Leopard”).

An ode to the Italian novel, the moment guests step inside they will be greeted by an opulent leopard sculpture.
The restaurant’s design is the work of acclaimed interior designer and artist Lázaro Rosa-Violán, who brings together the cosmopolitan energy of Milan and the inviting warmth of Venice.

The space is a celebration of Italian heritage, infused with mid-century glamour. Glossy wood and chrome accents, leopard patterns, and clouded cathedral glass partitions are reminiscent of classic Italian antiques, creating an intimate yet open atmosphere. Each element reflects the discerning charm of Italy’s legendary designers, paying homage to Gio Ponti’s geometric elegance and Carlo Scarpa’s architectural ingenuity.

As diners settle into their tables, they will be treated to one of Dubai’s most breathtaking views. With lowered dining spaces that offer panoramic vistas of the city’s glittering skyline, including the iconic Burj Khalifa, Il Gattopardo effortlessly combines a sensory feast of flavours, views and ambience.
At the helm of Il Gattopardo’s kitchen is Executive Chef Massimo Pasquarelli, a native of Abruzzo with over 25 years of experience. Pasquarelli will bring to life a curated menu of modern interpretations of Italy’s classic dishes, taking diners on a culinary journey across Italy’s diverse regions. Using seasonal ingredients and emphasizing local produce, the menu is both elevated and authentically Italian.
The experience will begin with a selection of traditional Antipasti, such as delicate Arancini and Bufala mozzarella paired with marinated heirloom tomatoes. Signature Pizzette options, like the decadent Tartufo (truffle mascarpone, caramelized onions, and truffle shavings), will offer a taste of indulgence. Handmade pastas will feature prominently on the menu, with highlights like the comforting Sorrentina – homemade gnocchi with mozzarella, tomato, and fresh basil – and the luxurious Astice, a linguine dish served with native lobster and lobster reduction.

For those seeking something extraordinary, the Crudo Bar is a must-visit, serving delicacies like Gamberi – Sicilian Mazara prawns with citrus zest – and Spigola, a sea bass carpaccio with tarocco orange, fennel, and Creignola olives. Larger sharing plates, such as Milanese, Pollo Cacciatora, and saffron-laced Risotto, capture the true spirit of Italian dining: generous, comforting, and bold.
No Italian meal is complete without something sweet, and Il Gattopardo’s pastry offering promises to be nothing short of spectacular. Head Pastry Chef Galileo Reposo, whose career includes time at Michelin-starred restaurants, has designed a menu that showcases Italy’s finest desserts. Expect the restaurant’s Tiramisu to steal the show, alongside a playful take on the Roman favourite Maritozzo – fluffy brioche buns filled with rich chocolate custard and chantilly cream. The Coppa Gelato, an indulgent concoction of espresso ganache, vanilla, and hazelnut ice cream, offers a decadent finale to any meal.

As night falls, Il Gattopardo transforms into a lively lounge where the spirit of La Dolce Vita comes to life. With a resident DJ spinning funky Italian hits, retro pop, and lively swing, the mood is infectious, inviting guests to stay long after dinner for late-night drinks and dancing.

Dior Launches Its New “Breakthrough in Anti-Ageing Skincare”
Dior has introduced its latest innovation in skincare, Capture Totale Retishot, an advanced anti-ageing treatment designed to regenerate skin and improve overall skin quality.
The product, which builds upon Dior’s Capture Totale line, brings a science-driven solution to the growing demand for targeted skincare that mirrors aesthetic medicine treatments.

The launch of Retishot follows Dior’s success with Capture Totale Hyalushot earlier this year, a product that focused on wrinkle correction. Retishot, however, aims to take a broader approach by tackling multiple visible signs of ageing, such as skin roughness, pores, marks, and loss of luminosity.

Dior’s scientific research, spanning over two decades, has uncovered the pivotal role stem cells play in maintaining youthful skin. According to their findings, stem cells lose their anchorage in the skin’s dermo-epidermal junction as we age, contributing to a decline in skin renewal and structural protein production. Capture Totale Retishot seeks to reverse this process with a blend of high-purity retinol and multi-fermented longoza extract, an ingredient harvested from Dior’s garden in Madagascar.

Retishot’s formula promises to enhance the skin’s appearance by boosting proteins essential for renewal and structural integrity. Dior claims the product can double skin quality within a week and visibly make skin look six years younger after a month of use. Clinically tested, the product has been endorsed by dermatologists and laser treatment experts for its efficacy.

Capture Totale Retishot is recommended as part of an evening skincare routine, complemented by other Dior Capture Totale products, with a focus on protection from photosensitivity during daytime hours.
