Coach is one of the few global luxury fashion houses with its roots firmly in New York City.
As such, for its FW24 show it was a homecoming of sorts, with the house deciding to launch its new collection in the well-heeled Upper East Side in the James B. Duke House – a mansion designed by Horace Trumbauer in 1912.

But this collection wasn’t just about nostalgia for the history of the city’s elite circles. It was about cultivating access to it for a new generation.

As the house’s creative director, Stuart Vevers explained in the show notes: “This collection is about the next generation accessing classicism and its tropes to redefine in their image and according to their needs.”

A large part of that was tapping into the demand for sustainable fashion, which is particularly present in the younger generations. The new collection featured second-hand denim, leather and shearling, along with cardigan jackets in distressed materials, tuxes and collegiate hoodies.

Elsewhere, Vevers boldly reminded everyone of the house’s New York heritage. In particular, through charms inspired by kitsch nostalgic New York souvenirs (think Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and yellow taxis – dangling from Coach new season leather goods).

It was a collection which had one foot in the past – the house’s 83-year history, rooted in New York City – as well as a nod to the future, with sustainability at its heart.
Tory Burch put forward one of the house’s most adventurous collections yet in New York this week.
Celebrating 20 years since the launch of the house’s first boutique, the designer showcased a collection which pushed the brand’s boundaries at the New York Public Library.

Feathers, glitter and sheer looks all played big in the house’s latest collection.

There were headscarves too, built into the structure of the designs.

Elsewhere in the collection, there were nods to the early naughties, with peplum-style frills making a return.

Carolina Herrera’s FW24 show took place on the 41st floor of a skyscraper in New York’s financial district, with cascading floor-to-ceiling views of New York’s skyline acting as the backdrop to the new collection.
Power and beauty were two of the key influences for the house’s Creative Director Wes Gordon, for the new collection.

Prior to the show, Feud: Capote vs. the Swans – a film about the trial of the actress Ann Woodward, who was accused of killing her husband – played to the audience.

The result of Gordon’s inspiration was a collection which revelled in unconventional combinations, boxy bright colours and of course – iconic gowns infused with the house codes.

“This season, more than ever, I wanted it to be about beauty as power, power as beauty,” Gordon told Reuters. “I wanted her to dress powerfully, and I wanted every look to be an embodiment of power.”

Twenty years after its first launch, the Chiffre Rouge timepiece collection is born again, enjoying a renaissance, reinvented through new models featuring some of the House’s most iconic codes; details chosen for their elegance and couture aesthetic.
Revisited with a modern edge, these extraordinary timepieces are now adorned with the lines of cannage, an eternal symbol of Dior. Engraved with infinite precision and delicacy, the sumptuous, micro-textured graphics magnify the dial and oscillating weight.

Monsieur Dior’s favourite number, eight, also emblemizes this creation; it is the only numeral in the date display to be highlighted by the vibrant shade, like a marvellous lucky charm that reappears every month.
Equipped with an automatic mechanism visible on the back through a captivating use of transparency, the watches are fitted with a variety of calibres, from chronograph to tourbillon, composing a diverse selection to suit all tastes.

Daring to mix and match, this timepiece comes with interchangeable straps – in rubber enhanced with macro and micro cannage or in precious leather – that can be interchanged as wanted.
Presented in several different finishes, it can be embellished with stones or distinguished by an ultra-matte black. Perpetually contemporary, this object of desire exists in two sizes, 38mm and 41mm. A powerful statement for both men and women.
Five of the timepiece designs will be available from February, with a further design becoming available in July and two more in October 2024.

Few things encapsulate the classic American fashion scene more than Tommy Hilfiger, and it was something the house certainly played to its advantage this New York Fashion Week.
For FW24 the house presented a collection called “A New York Minute” at one of the city’s most iconic landmarks – The Oyster Bar at Grand Central Station.

With an A-List FROW that most brands can only dream of gathering, Tommy Hilfiger presented a collection that was all about all-American affordable Quiet Luxury.

The Ivy League vibe which makes up the core DNA of Tommy Hilfiger was very much present: think cable knit sweaters, felted wool blazers, sumptuous scarves and pleated skirts, all made relevant for 2024 with oversized cuts and relaxed tailoring.

The key accessory for the collection was arguably the classic all-American baseball cap, which appeared on seventeen of the looks presented.

In all, it felt like a homecoming for the brand – a return to its roots in the city that never sleeps.

Saint Laurent has continued its foray into the Parisian culture scene with its latest store – Saint Laurent Babylone – which is dedicated to books, art and culture.
The name is a nod to the historic ties that the house’s co-founders Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé had to the Sèrves-Babylone neighbourhood.

The new store is set to become a hub for creative minds in the city, with a calendar of live music performances as well as book readings and signings planned over the coming months.

The entire space was curated by the house’s Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello who wanted the space to emulate the brand’s original cultural space – the flagship Saint Laurent Rive Gauche boutique which first came to life in the 1960s.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Roger Vivier has released the latest additions to the house’s “I Love Vivier” collection.
For Spring/Summer 2024, Creative Director Gherardo Felloni has reimagined the shoe with a new latticework leather construction with a slingback and stiletto heel.
Meanwhile, other pieces in the collection include a fabulous patent cut-away sandal and pumps in both soft suede and bright red strass.

In the notes which accompanied the new collection, the house said the “colours of love [are] so often present in Monsieur Vivier’s historical designs…The ‘I Love Vivier’ pump is the ultimate House expression of this ideal…creations echo the romantic elegance of this boldly feminine spirit.”
Italian designer Gherardo Felloni joined Roger Vivier in March 2018, bringing his vast and unique experience to the Parisian luxury accessories maison.

The Roger Vivier house has its roots in the show world of 1930s Paris when the eponymous founder began designing shoes for the Moulin Rouge. Fast-forward to the 1950s and the designer created the world’s first stiletto heel, becoming known for footwear that was considered a work of art.
Miu Miu has once again partnered with luxury English shoewear house, Church’s for Spring/Summer 2024
A dishevelled sense of chic and a relaxed and confident attitude define the print and moving image campaign for the second Church’s X Miu Miu collaboration, following the success of the duo’s first campaign for the Fall/Winter 2023.

For the new collection Church’s style has been reinterpreted: the ‘Shanghai’. Dating back to 1929, the Church’s X Miu Miu Shanghai exemplifies the modernity and refinement both names stand for.

Models Matilda Liedholm and Judith Shyambala are photographed by Lengua against the backdrop of a verdant country garden: the grandeur of the topiary and a specially commissioned striped jacquard inspired by summertime upholstery frame the ease of their positioning and gestures: the natural and the mannered, the organic and the contrived are juxtaposed. The context of heritage is transported to a youthful new scenario, designed to enrich and inform the here and now.

Evoking a similar play between respect for tradition and contemporary ease, the workmanship and structure of the shoe itself – its toe and heel – are conventional but that is softened by the use of a more rounded last, a natural colour palette and panels of malleable canvas spliced into aged leather, polished to luxurious effect.

The contrasts that lie at the heart of Miu Miu are upheld, given equal weight and value: the old and the new, the dressed and the undressed, the formal and the informal. Time passing and time standing still.

Global Village

Dubai Parks and Resort
Riverland Dubai, in the heart of the city’s family-friendly Dubai Parks Resort, will have plenty of fun activities for all the family on Saturday evening. Meditation offers a wide range of physical, mental, and emotional benefits. Here are some of the key ways a regular meditation practice could help you.
Positive impact on your mental health
One of the most well-documented benefits of meditation is its ability to reduce stress. Mindfulness meditation, in particular, has been shown to lower cortisol levels, the hormone associated with stress. It’s not the only positive way that meditation can impact your mental health, however. Regular meditation can also contribute to emotional stability and resilience, by helping to regulate mood, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and promote an overall sense of well-being. Some people have reported that meditation has helped them develop greater resilience to the ups and downs of life too, while others have said it helps them to be more mindful, by helping them to be fully present in the current moment without judgment. This heightened awareness can lead to a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Meditation also encourages self-reflection and introspection, leading to increased self-awareness. This can help individuals better understand their thoughts, emotions, and reactions.
Benefits for your physical health
A good night’s sleep is one of the most restorative ways to improve your overall help, and – unsurprisingly – meditation has been linked to improved sleep quality. Mindfulness practices can help quiet the mind and relax the body, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep. Some studies also suggest that meditation may contribute to lower blood pressure, which is beneficial for heart health. Finally, meditation techniques, such as mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), have been shown to successfully help as part of pain management strategies, for individuals who cope with chronic pain.
Improved work and social life
Alongside the physical and mental benefits of meditation, it could also help with your day-to-day interactions at work and in your social circles too. Meditation has been shown to help enhance attention and concentration by training the mind to stay present. This can lead to better performance in various cognitive tasks and increased productivity. Moreover, meditation can foster empathy, compassion, and better communication skills, contributing to healthier and more positive relationships. Some research indicates that meditation can lead to changes in the brain, including increased grey matter density in areas associated with learning, memory, and emotional regulation.

A lesser-known fact about vitamin D is that it isn’t simply a vitamin – but a hormone too – and it is essential to running many different aspects of our bodies from helping to support a healthy immune system to strong bones.
Here are some of the ways you can make sure you get enough Vitamin D to keep your body healthy.
Spending time outdoors
The most natural way to get vitamin D is through sunlight, by spending some time outdoors, during the times of day (and year) when the sun isn’t too fierce. While sunlight is a natural source of vitamin D, it’s important to practice sun safety to avoid skin damage and reduce the risk of skin cancer. Get sun exposure without sunscreen for a limited time, and then use sunscreen to protect your skin. As a rule of thumb, 20 minutes during mild sun exposure, followed by sunscreen should be sufficient – however be sure to consult a medical practitioner first, as this can vary from skin type to skin type.
Healthy food sources
There are plenty of healthy foods which are naturally rich in vitamin D, particularly fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel and trout as well as cod liver oil and egg yolk. Meanwhile, some other foods such as plant-based milk, some cereals and some dairy products have been fortified with vitamin D, which means they’ve had the nutritious vitamin added to the food item for its health benefits.
Source a good supplement
If you have difficulty getting enough vitamin D from sunlight and food, it might be a good idea to consider taking vitamin D supplements. Consult with your healthcare provider before starting any supplementation to determine the appropriate dosage for your individual needs. People with darker skin types are more at risk from vitamin D deficiency; one of the best ways to check is ask your local healthcare provider for a vitamin D test to check your levels to see if they need to be improved.

Although hair oiling has recently become one of the most talked about trends on social media, it is actually an ancient practice that people have been using in South Asian communities for around 5,000 years.
If you’re completely new to the practice, here are some tips on how your hair and scalp can benefit from the art of hair oiling.
Research your oil options
There are many different oils to choose from when it comes to hair oiling, some popular choices include coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil, castor oil, and jojoba oil. The key here is to take into consideration both your hair type and your scalp. Do you suffer from a dry scalp? Do you dye your hair? The unique makeup of your current hair and scalp will directly impact the oil you should choose.

Warm oil is the most effective oil
Once you have chosen the correct oil type for your hair, its type to apply it. Prep the oil by warming it gently in a pan, as warm oil can better penetrate the hair shaft allowing for maximum benefit from the oil’s properties. Be sure that you only warm it for a short amount of time – oil can heat very quickly and hot oil will be too much for your scalp and hair to handle.
Prep your hair
Brush through your hair thoroughly whilst dry and wear clothes you don’t mind getting oil on. For extra protection, wrap a towel around your shoulders. Then divide your hair into sections using clips, to ensure you get an even application of oil.
Applying the oil
Dip your fingertips into the warm oil and apply it to your scalp using gentle, circular motions. First making sure to cover the entire scalp. Spend a few minutes massaging your scalp to improve blood circulation, as this can help with hair growth and relaxation. Next up is the length of the hair. Work the oil through the length of your hair, concentrating on the ends. This helps prevent split ends and keeps your hair moisturised. Finally, when the oil has been applied through each area, use a wide-tooth comb to make sure the oil is distributed evenly through your hair (double bonus: this also helps detangle your hair).

Leave the treatment on
After applying the oil, for deeper nourishment use a shower cap or wrap your hair in clingfilm to create heat. This helps the oil penetrate the hair shaft. Allow the oil to sit on your hair for at least 30 minutes to an hour, or even overnight for deep conditioning. As a rule of thumb, the longer you leave it on, the better the results.
Aftercare for the oil treatment
When you’re ready to remove the oil, wash your hair with a mild shampoo. You may need to shampoo twice to ensure all the oil is removed. Follow up with a conditioner. For most hair types, you can repeat the process once a week – but adjust the frequency depending on your hair’s needs.

Italian Quiet Luxury house, Loro Piana has unveiled its new Spring Summer 2025 Textile Collection at Milano Unica.
The collection comprises fabrics of rich quality, showcasing the house’s innovative spirit, and exceptional craftsmanship.
It reflects the essence of the maison’s elegance through a skilful interplay of tradition, engineering, and creativity.
A novelty this season is a family of elastic and reactive Crêpes, created using high-twist yarns obtained through sophisticated production processes.

Linen Twins
The new Dunes variant is characterized by a pleasantly wavy and rippled surface, they have a particularly fluid drape and a crisp hand that is less prone to wrinkling. Dunes are crafted from the finest wool creating an unexpectedly soft and enveloping texture that evokes the majestic dunes of the desert.
Journeying from Northern Europe to Italy, following the path traced by the fibre, Loro Piana transforms the purest linen into unique and functional textiles.

Sunset
For Spring Summer 2025, Loro Piana presents a line of new linen fabrics including Linen Denim, Linen & Cotton, Linen & Silk, and Linen Twins.
The sense of freedom is captured through the extreme versatility and elasticity of fabrics, including Linen Twins, pure linen or blends of cotton and wool for contemporary garments, and Lino Effetto Denim, which combines the lightness and transpiration of linen with the casual appeal of denim for sophisticated comfort.

Summertime
Sunset, a lightweight cashmere-silk fabric with an extremely soft hand, is presented in a sophisticated selection of mélange colours, ideal for Spring and Autumn blazers and jackets, while the Softtime fabric features a 3D effect, the result of an elaborate interweaving of wool, cotton and silk, resulting in structured and dynamic surfaces, soft and enveloping, with an exceptionally shiny and textured appearance.
With the Spring Summer 2025 Textile Collection, Loro Piana once again demonstrates excellence in savoir-faire with artisanal heritage and cutting-edge innovations in textile production techniques.
Celebrating fashion as an essential means of asserting oneself and expressing all facets of femininity more than ever, Maria Grazia Chiuri has thought up a powerfully bewitching wardrobe that dares to unite opposites, fusing refinement and simplicity in a plural singularity.
Inhabited by this ingenious freedom, the silhouettes conceived by the Creative Director are revealed through choreographed tableaus captured by the famous American photographer Tina Barney.

At the convergence of past and present, between candour and irresistible subversion, the models evolve at the heart of different spaces – so many “rooms of one’s own” – in a timeless setting shrouded in mystery.

From shadow to light, the looks recount this emancipation: fabric, “the only vehicle for dreams”, as Monsieur Dior referred to it, is aglow with magic, combining imagination and reinvention(s).

Jackets and skirts are delicately frayed, while cuts, architectural, not fixed, poetically sketch and sculpt the body in motion. Subtly unveiling the curve of the shoulder, the Abandon dress – designed by Christian Dior for the fall-winter 1948 haute couture line – is metamorphosed by shirts with asymmetrical necklines.

Voluptuously escorting this rebellious grace, the Dior Toujours bag is reinterpreted in a new, crinkled leather variation featuring the iconic macrocannage motif. Diorebel lace-up boots are worn with ethereal outfits sublimated by virtuoso embroidery. In turn, Adorable pumps are embellished with white resin beads and straps embracing the ankle and lower leg up to the knee.
A fascinating inner odyssey, an ode to feminine elegance, the multiple beauty of which cannot be confined to a single narrative.
