Christian Dior was famously passionate about the world of dance.
As an ode to ballet, this season Maria Grazia Chiuri has created the house’s “Dior Ballet ballerinas” as part of the Dior Cruise 2024 collection.

Distinguished by their feminine curves, the new footwear evokes the beauty of dance in name and silhouette.

Describing the new piece, the house said in a statement: “Like an ode to grace, these shoes combine elegance and comfort in quilted calfskin, on which the graphic lines of the iconic cannage are traced, in homage to the founding-couturier’s legacy.”

The new range is available in black or nude, including versions enhanced by a grosgrain bow.

A subtle affirmation of Dior style, a white resin pearl adorned with the initials “CD” adds an exceptional finishing touch to these models.

The ski slopes of Europe and the US are the runways of the winter season. Separate from the traditional FW collections, skiwear offers craftsmanship in its own right.
This season, the LV Ski capsule returns as a combined women’s and men’s collection that delivers active style and peak versatility.

Innovative technical materials highlight the bold, streamlined looks for women and the performance design that extends across the men’s range, as LV Ski spans ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes and accessories.

From sophisticated alpine ensembles complete with Monogram helmets and ski masks to silhouettes that stand out beyond the slopes, Louis Vuitton takes ski and après ski wear to new heights for winter ’23-24.

For women, outerwear reimagines sport uniform influences with an elevated edge.

Graphic motifs freshly interpret the Monogram and Louis Vuitton signatures on down-filled jackets and polished parkas.

These winterised volumes are worn over slim ski suits and sporty knit layers that fit close to the body. Ski pants, technical trousers, and contoured leggings create different silhouettes, enlarging the wardrobe possibilities for going out or staying in. With intense red, deep navy, glacial blue, and crisp white and black, the palette is at once classic and contemporary. The LV Flocon logo reappears across the collection, its original design conjuring both a snowflake and the Monogram flower.

Accessories enhance each look with warmth and style, whether wraparound scarves patterned with LV medallions – both tonal and colour-blocked – in sumptuous wool, or a shearling collar that hugs the neck. In addition to signature gloves, hats are essential and include caps in Monogram flannel, a shearling bucket hat and ribbed beanies. Ski masks in gradient solar hues offer maximum coverage for winter glare while lighter sunglasses with Monogram lenses can be worn with everyday ease.

Jamal Tayara-Baroudy is set to showcase her first solo exhibition “Ways of Seeing” at Tashkeel this month.
The show is part of its 2023 Autumn Season at the gallery, where Tayara-Baroudy will showcase her diverse artistic talents, spanning graphic design, eco-printing, and installation.
The exhibition is a new body of work produced by Jamal as the 17th graduate of Tashkeel’s Critical Practice Programme (CPP). The initiative helps to develop UAE-based talent by offering sustained studio support, training, critique and production for practising artists living in the UAE. Artists’ programmes are carefully constructed around their practice and/or research areas. As part of the CPP experience, Jamal was mentored by curator Lesley Ann Gray and Dr. Mohammad Abiad, Associate Professor and Director of the Laboratories for the Environment, Agriculture, and Food (LEAF) at the American University of Beirut.

A graduate of the Lebanese American University, Jamal has made a significant contribution to the UAE art scene with her branding agency JamJar Design established in 2002 and her art studio, Art Like, founded in 2011. She has been a member of Tashkeel since 2016 and has exhibited in venues across Dubai and Sharjah.
Commenting on the exhibition, Tayara-Baroudyl said, ‘Ways of Seeing explores the profound connections between human experiences, geography and memory. I have done extensive research over the past 18 months, exploring the giant milkweed (Calotropis Procera) and its connection to heritage and human experiences. The artwork I have created is a re-evaluation of our relationship with nature and the inherent value of flora.”
As part of the exhibit, there will be several artist-led tours, talks and drawing workshops for younger visitors. For more details visit the official gallery website below.
The GCC is geographically blessed when it comes to island escapes. The region is close to two of the most coveted luxury archipelagos in the world: the Seychelles and the Maldives.
To the untrained eye, both destinations hold a high number of similarities. Both countries are a short-haul flight from much of the Middle East and both are island nations, boasting a large amount of luxury hotel real estate on the planet. They are even geographically close to each other, both experiencing a similar kaleidoscope of weather in one day – blazing sunshine to tropical downpours and hazy humidity along with the early sunsets which come from being close to the equator. But that is where the comparison ends. In the Maldives, the large majority of islands available for tourists to travel to are under the control of individual hotels (private islands, which are entirely operated by largely international hotel chains – no outside shops, no wandering around local streets to taste food at local cafes and the only Maldivians there are those who are working in the property along with nations from all over the world). Not so in the Seychelles. The country is ablaze with life.

The biggest islands by far are Mahe (home to the capital, Victoria) and Praslin. In the Seychelles, you can hike, climb and dive, all to a beautiful mountainous backdrop which leads down to the Indian Ocean. A must-see spot when visiting the country is the Vallee de Mai National Park on Praslin, one of the only places in the world where you can find the coco de mer plant – famous for its voluptuous shape, and an official symbol of the nation (being found everywhere from the country’s currency to cups and flags). Aside from the auspicious plant, there are many natural resources on the island and flavour-packed curries, fish fresh from the Indian Ocean and home-cooked rice dishes make up many of the staple recipes in the country. Local cafes and food trucks are popular with the Seychellois and serve them up by the dish load and a fraction of the price charged at the country’s many high-end restaurants aimed at tourists. If you fancy trying your hand at cooking while on your stay there are daily markets across the country, in all of the main town and city hubs. Local transport is available on the bigger islands but can vary in cost (beware that there is a rule in place that only taxis, not buses are allowed to carry tourists, from the main airport which results in a higher cost). But aside from that, buses across the country provide a reasonably priced and easy way to get around – albeit with an irregular schedule. If you ask locals in the country what time the bus will arrive they will inevitably say “on the hour”. But in reality what this means is anything from 20 minutes before the hour, to 20 minutes after the hour.

One of the newest arrivals in the country is the Club Med Exclusive Collection Seychelles, which recently opened an eco-chic resort on the island of Saint Anne. Offering next-level luxury, the hotel is the only property on the island and is just a short 15-minute boat ride from the main island of Mahé. Step off the boat onto the fine sand of this 220-hectare island, where the beach stretches for more than half a mile, bordered by coconut trees and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. And that’s just an exquisite foretaste of the riches to be discovered on this archipelago. In keeping with the brand’s sustainable ethos, between coral reefs and tropical forests, 60% of the hotel’s island home is made up of protected areas – starting with the Sainte-Anne Marine National Park, which surrounds the resort.

The designer behind the incredible property is architect Gauthier Guillaume was entrusted with the task of designing the renovation of this desert island resort. And this visionary has thought out every space down to the smallest detail. From the rooms to the villas, bars, and restaurants, raw wood, ropes, and local craftsmanship are brought to the fore. Here, gathering places open onto the pool, the beach, or the tropical forest. As for the sun, it pierces through the patterns cut into the wooden walls in a minimalist, authentic style.

The gem in Guillaume’s design is the “Villa Seychelles” at the property. Tucked away between tropical trees overlooking the sea, this exclusive retreat offers a haven of peace hidden from view. In this unique 332 m2 villa, the most discerning guests can enjoy private service in the most intimate setting. Guests can take breakfast by the pool and in the evening, enjoy drinks while watching a blazing sunset over the Indian Ocean. The villa even comes with its own dedicated steward who ensures that residents lack for nothing. And, of course, the architect’s touch is evident everywhere you look through his choice of raw, natural materials.

The hotel is also home to two restaurants and three bars, offering laidback luxury for all tastes, taking guests on a rich culinary voyage. The two main restaurants draw on the archipelago’s history, Creole cuisine, which combines inspirations from Asia, Europe, and Africa. From grilled fish to rich meat dishes and curry made with exotic vegetables, the five-star chefs are on hand to conjure up recipes featuring delicately spiced flavours that will delight your senses and celebrate the island’s culinary heritage.
Transforming your living space into a masterpiece of your unique style is an exhilarating challenge. Yet, the true art lies in mastering design diversity — blending patterns and textures with finesse.
Modern interior decor brand, aura Living, shares four simple tips to transform your home into a space of relaxation and inspiration.
Start with a Colour Scheme

Choose a cohesive colour palette to anchor your design. It will serve as a roadmap as you mix patterns and textures, ensuring harmony despite the diversity.
Mix Scale, Not Just Patterns

Combine different scales of patterns to add depth and interest. A large-scale design can coexist beautifully with a smaller, more intricate one, preventing visual competition.
Incorporate Solids and Negative Space

Use solid colours and negative space to give the eye a place to rest. These pauses are essential, as they prevent the space from becoming overwhelming or chaotic.
Vary Texture for a Rich Feel

Introduce a variety of textures to add warmth and richness to the space. Contrasting textures, like smooth silk, create an engaging tactile experience.
Follow the Rule of Three

Limit your mix to around three patterns in a room to maintain balance and prevent the space from feeling cluttered. This rule helps in creating a space that’s dynamic yet not overpowering.
Twenty-four-year-old socialite and designer Talita von Fürstenberg takes centre stage in the new campaign for the Italian luxury jewellery house, Buccellati.
Discussing von Fürstenberg, a spokesperson for the house described her as “A committed designer, philanthropist and entrepreneur.”

“Talita lives between Los Angeles and New York. She is the daughter of Princes Alexandra and Alexander von Fürstenberg, as well as the granddaughter of the famous fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg,” the spokesperson continued.

The fabulous new photoshoot took place in the enchanting Italian city of Lecce.

Amidst the historic city’s magnificent Italian Baroque, photographer Josh Olins portrays Buccellati timeless elegance through a series of black and white shots.

Numerous beautiful locations were included in the shoot, from Palazzo Bozzi Corso to the evocative Roman Theatre, amidst the numerous churches and intertwining honey-coloured houses.

The charm of the city and the style of Buccellati’s jewellery converge in a walk through the squares and characteristic hidden alleys, ending in the magical atmosphere of tradition and modernity of the Masseria Francescani, which fully represents the maison’s characteristic style.
Tiffany & Co. has announced the debut of its latest jewellery collection: Tiffany Forge.
Crafted from the house’s iconic sterling silver, Tiffany Forge celebrates the unique path that every individual creates.
The collection pays tribute to the artisans and expert craftspeople at its famed hollowware workshop who have formed metal into icons for nearly two centuries. When conceptualizing the collection’s signature open-link motif, Tiffany & Co. designers reimagined archival chains dating back to as early as the 1880s.

“Tiffany Forge and the collection’s signature open-link motif proudly honour our exceptional craftsmanship and showcase our hollowware workshop capabilities,” said Alexandre Arnault, Executive Vice President of Product and Communication at Tiffany & Co. “Each design has a bold look and feel. The silver collections have always been an integral part of our legacy and we are excited to expand our silver offering to include Forge.”

The full collection of the new Forge creations is featured in multiple expressions of an open-link motif that form bold designs with a hidden clasp. They are offered in either high-polished or blackened sterling silver, the collection will include both narrow and wide chain iterations in necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings that play with scale and dimensionality.

Tiffany Forge pays tribute to the house’s long tradition of crafting sterling silver masterworks at its famed hollowware workshop in Rhode Island. Further, the collection honours Tiffany’s legacy of standardizing sterling silver purity, or 925 per 1,000 parts silver, in the US over a century ago.
The weather is finally cooling down, as the winter sets in. Here are some top tips to embrace wellness and health during the new season
Take advantage of the milder weather and longer days by spending more time outdoors. Engage in activities like hiking, biking, jogging, or simply taking a leisurely walk in a park.
Incorporate fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables into your diet. Due to the sunlight and climate many delicious and nutritious produce items are in season, so explore local farmers’ markets for a variety of options.
Remember: it may be cooler, but the temperatures can still spike, so it’s essential to stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your body functioning optimally. Enjoy the sunshine, but be mindful of sun safety. Use sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays, and wear sunglasses and a hat for added protection.
On cooler days, turn off the air con and embrace fresh air. Take the time to declutter and organize your living spaces. A clean and organized environment can have a positive impact on your mental well-being.
As the weather cools down, work and social calendars can become very busy. Be sure to practice mindfulness and meditation to reduce stress and promote a sense of calm. Take a few minutes each day to focus on your breath or engage in guided meditation. Equally, ensure you are getting enough quality sleep. Develop a consistent sleep routine and create a comfortable sleep environment to support your overall health.
If you find yourself with “no time” to relax. Reduce screen time, especially before bedtime. The blue light emitted from screens can interfere with your sleep patterns, so consider establishing a technology-free period before bedtime.
Take time each day to reflect on the positive aspects of your life. Gratitude has been linked to improved mental health and overall well-being.
The winter season is a great time to reconnect with friends and family. Plan outdoor activities or gatherings to enjoy each other’s company and strengthen social bonds.
Set realistic fitness goals for the cooler season. Whether it’s starting a new exercise routine or trying a new sport, use the energy of the season to stay active and fit.

It’s within this context that Chanel launched the house’s first podcast in 2021. Collagen is a vital protein found in our bodies that helps maintain the elasticity and firmness of our skin. As we age, our skin tends to lose collagen which leads to visible signs of ageing, such as wrinkles, dull complexion and sagging skin. Therefore, it is crucial to safeguard the collagen in your skin from a young age.
The award-winning, liquid collagen supplement, Gold Collagen offers one of the easiest ways to improve skin health and achieve glowing and youthful skin. Fatma Ahmadi, the expert at Gold Collagen lists three reasons to start drinking your collagen today and the secret to getting that glow:
Start in your 20’s
If you’re in your 20’s, start now! Although your skin health depends on genetics, it is best to start taking collagen as a proactive method to promote healthy skin ageing. Pure Gold Collagen is a liquid, skin, hair and nail health supplement expertly designed for women to wish for beautiful, healthy-looking skin. Not only will drinking this help fight the early signs of ageing, but will also help boost your natural collagen, elastin and hydration levels that decline over time.
Supports Gut Health
Your gut plays a significant role in skin health and a healthy gut can lead to healthier skin. A key feature that sets Gold Collagen apart from others in the market is its availability in liquid form, which is most easily absorbed by the body, ensuring maximum benefits. Collagen drinks improve gut health as well as overall health and well-being. For best results, take Gold Collagen on an empty stomach in the morning and avoid eating for 30 minutes afterwards.
Use it especially if you’re in menopause
Just because you didn’t start a collagen supplement in your 20s, doesn’t mean it’s too late to start. Menopause changes your entire body, including skin tone, texture, age spots etc. Gold Collagen Forte is enhanced with 2X more moisture-retaining hyaluronic acid compared to the Pure Gold Collagen formula. Boucheron welcomes two new animals in 2023: the Panda and the Cicada, and also presents new Fuzzy the leopard and iconic Wladimir the cat pieces.

A symbol of peace and friendship, the Panda brings tenderness to those who choose it as a companion. Shaped by the Maison’s workshops to be round in every way, it clings delicately to the finger in a ring topped with an opulent tourmaline symbolizing the Panda’s main object of desire, bamboo.

The Cicada takes flight from a necklace that transforms into a brooch and a ring that stretches its wings across several fingers. A symbol of renewal and harmony, it is crafted with exquisite detail, down to the delicate veins of its wings. Paved with diamonds and set with an aquamarine, the Cicada glows against the skin with a soft light.

The Maison also offers its favourite felines new looks. Fuzzy the leopard cat is now free to slink along the full stretch of a playful long necklace. Moreover, a new Fuzzy pendant in white gold and diamonds will be exclusively presented at the Ginza boutique of Japan for its inauguration in September 2023.

The collection of the Maison’s iconic cat, Wladimir, grows to include three new designs: a bracelet, a pair of ear studs, and a necklace that may be worn in several ways.
Abu Dhabi Art has announced the Beyond Emerging Artists for the 2023 edition of the event which will take place next month.
Those who will be exhibiting include Palestinian-Egyptian Samo Shalaby who trained at Central Saint Martins and specialises in fine art. Emirati conceptual artist, Almaha Jaralla, who observes living environments to create highly personal portraits and Dubai-based multidisciplinary artist Latifa Saeed. The exhibition will be curated by Morad Montazam, who has previously curated exhibitions at the Tate Modern in London.
Samo Shalaby
Samo Shalaby is a Palestinian-Egyptian fine artist based between Dubai and London. Growing up in Cairo and Dubai before pursuing his artistic education at Central Saint Martins, Samo was exposed to a myriad of artistic expressions, styles, and forms of art-making that have shaped his unique creative oeuvre. Exploring fields such as stage design, costume design, and jewellery, Samo began integrating strands of theatrical essence into his work, infused with a distinct dramatic flair. His artistic explorations traverse the styles of antiquity, surrealism, and the grotesque, filtered through his own contemporary and personal lens. His work embodies an inherent fascination with blurring the boundaries between identity, culture, and high fashion, often through dichotomous narratives that lurk behind beautiful facades. Combining a range of aesthetics and motifs from various decades, Samo crafts new worlds that are familiar yet so far away. Whether on camera or canvas, symbolism, and storytelling are crucial elements for conjuring Samo‘s vision into existence.
Almaha Jaralla

Emirati conceptual artist, Almaha Jaralla, observes living environments as highly personal portraits. The Abu Dhabi-based artist places the focus of her paintings and photographs on the modern history of her local surroundings. Jaralla is preoccupied with the local architectural vernacular and the generational shifts that she has observed in the constructed environment. The artist often works from her own documentary photography as well as archival materials that offer insight into the Gulf at various moments in time. Jaralla uses colour theory to negotiate the complex sociocultural dynamics and ancestral histories that have contributed to her lived experience. Questions of identities – individual and collective – are interwoven throughout her output.
Latifa Saeed

Latifa Saeed is a Dubai-based multidisciplinary artist who graduated from Zayed University with a bachelor’s degree in Arts and Sciences in 2007. She obtained the Emerging Artist Fellowship by Abu Dhabi’s Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation, in partnership with Rhode Island School of Design, in 2019. In 2021 Saeed received a grant from the Misk Art Institute in Riyadh and participated in the group show “Under Construction” at The Prince Faisal bin Fahd Fine Arts Hall. She was also a finalist of the Richard Mille Art Prize, hosted by Louvre Abu Dhabi alongside its ‘Art Here’ exhibition in 2021, and participated in their group show “Memory, Time, Territory”. Saeed was recently the first Emirati artist to showcase work in Almaty, Kazakhstan with her solo exhibition “Black Silhouette”, curated by the renowned art historian, critic, and author Valeria Ibraeva.
