Lee Brings The Art Of Britishness To Burberry’s SS24 Collection

Daniel Lee brought quintessential Britishness to his latest collection for Burberry.

His SS24 event – held at a park in Highbury Fields – took guests away from London’s usual Fashion Week carousel of tourist sights.

Outside the main event, there was a food truck serving guests Eccles cakes and cups of tea (an ode to the designer’s Yorkshire upbringing).

As for the collection itself, there were clean lines, summer patterns filled with joie de vivre, and a palette of black, neutrals, shades of red – and the occasion burst of the much-anticipated Burberry blue.

Level Shoes Announce New Collaboration With Local Design Hub KAMEH

Bursting onto the local creative scene in 2022, KAMEH is a design studio that seeks to combine craftsmanship and complexity into original pieces where function and art are synonymous.

For their most recent project, Level Shoes commissioned KAMEH for a collectable that blurs the lines between object and art.

KAMEH’s work touches on themes of nature and the human self. Realised through local craftsmanship, the house’s oeuvre of complex interior pieces straddles the line between decorative art and functional design.

As part of the campaign with Level Shoes, KAMEH challenges the outlook of the perfect white box, creating a limited-edition collectable object that shoe lovers can use to store their most prized possessions. The box is technically crafted using multiple layers of materials representing the human self. The metal construction of the frame are bones and the physical body; the softness of foam that fills the inside core of the piece represents human emotions; and the hard cement covering the structure is the protective instinct guard we create to shield from the harshness of the world.

Envisioned for sneaker enthusiasts, the collectable is now available for purchase online.

Prada Unveils New Pop-Up In Dubai This Weekend

Over three days, limited-edition Prada packs of marigold, daisy and sunflower seeds – ready to bloom – will be available while supplies last at flower kiosks on city streets and inside key shopping destinations located in Milan, London, Paris, New York, Dubai, Seoul, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Qinhuangdao, and Tokyo.

This activation expands upon the aesthetic and semantic content of the Prada Fall/Winter 2023 menswear and womenswear campaign, literally using the act of planting and propagation to spread new blooms across the world – conveying emotions and taking an intangible concept to physical form.

In the campaign, a surreal sequence of impossible conversations between flowers and people come to life in shots by renowned photographer Willy Vanderperre and videos based on a script by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Michael Cunningham. The images depict five global stars – Benedict Cumberbatch, Hunter Schafer, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Letitia Wright and Li Xian – conversing with extraordinary giant floral creations, a reimagination of flowers on a human scale that embodies the timeless and universal values of beauty, care, and love.

The campaign concept will also expand on digital platforms thanks to an exclusive filter, newly designed to create experiences and content to publish on Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and WeChat. 3D versions of the flowers from Prada’s images will bloom virtually on users’ mobile screens – offering customization of one’s photos with special effects.

This September, Giorgio Armani releases a unique project, “Armani Fiori”. A new book which explores the connection between the world of flora and design.

Discussing the new launch, Giorgio Armani said: “Harmony is what the world of flowers suggests to me. A harmony of shapes and colours, but also of nature and culture, of wild beauty and creativity. An absolute union of thought and spontaneity, resolved in shapes and colours that touch the gaze as much as the heart.”

“ Working with flowers, or around flowers, is exciting, for the creativity and vitality of nature shines through in all its glory, in turn inspiring human creativity. The new tome narrates the essence and beauty of Armani/Fiori which was established in Milan in 2000 with the opening of the Armani/Manzoni 31 store and is also present in Dubai, Kuwait City, and Hong Kong.

“Armani Fiori” is a journey into the creative universe of Giorgio Armani, where design and nature merge to create unique floral arrangements and refined floral designs.  The floral arrangements are associated with the stylistic universe of Giorgio Armani and his creations in the fields of fashion, home decor design, and textiles.

The label debuted its Spring 2024 collection with a runway show at the iconic New York Public Library, in a show which seemed like an ode to New York City. Key highlights included the introduction of soft suiting (think cotton and wool subtly aged), along with largely muted neutral shades and black. The next big show of the week was the Ralph Lauren collection, which was revealed over the weekend. Michael Kors

For SS24 Michael Kors introduced a collection defined by “barefoot glamour,” and far-flung summer destinations of dreams. Creating the sense of a vacay from the city,  the capsule was showcased in Domino Park, on the banks of New York’s East River overlooking Manhattan. Meanwhile, the collection itself was inspired by the hedonism of the 70s, muses such as the late Jane Birkin, Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Sharon Tate.

Carolina Herrera

Rounding up the big shows of New York Fashion Week was the Carolina Herrara show. The house’s SS24 collection marked Wes Gordon’s fifth year as Creative Director at the house. To celebrate he put on an iconic event at the Whitney Museum of American Art, with an explosion of seasonal floral patterns and colours, ranging from violet hues to lemon shades.

Everything You Need To Know About Prada Mode Which Just Took Place In Seoul

The 10th edition of Prada Mode, Plural and Parallel, took place this September at KOTE in the South Korean capital of Seoul.

The event coincided with the city’s annual  Frieze Seoul art fair.

Curated by Lee Sook-Kyung, the space showcased multiple site-specific installations by esteemed directors Kim Jee-Woon, Yeon Sang-ho, and Jeong Dahee, advancing an ambitious vision of contemporary cinema through each director’s idiosyncratic lens.

For the occasion, KOTE was transformed into a multi-dimensional destination where guests could explore the different universes on offer.

Across KOTE’s multiple buildings, the three directors brought their visions to life by collaborating with Lee Sook-Kyung and exploring the ideas of culinary culture, absence, and mortality.

DAY 1 – PRADA MODE SEOUL

Prada Mode Seoul opened with an array of activities including conversations, musical performances, and a private dinner in honour of Lee Sook-Kyung followed by a party.

The opening day featured two conversations:

“Crossing Boundaries: Yeon Sang-ho’s Universe”

Kim Jee-Woon addressed the idea of “space objects” in his films in the context of architectural space. Schiaparelli Reveals Its New Schiap Bag For Fall/Winter 2023

Parisian couture house Schiaparelli has revealed its latest accessory, and it’s set to become a must-have accessory for the new season.

Designed by the brand’s Artistic Director Daniel Roseberry, the new Schiap bag is a tribute to the Maison’s founder Elsa Schiaparelli, who was known by the affectionate name “Schiap” to her close circle of friends and family.

The bag’s graphic design features a rectangular shape with a simple flap, embellished with smooth lambskin with a shiny appearance and a soft touch, with a supple texture thanks to quilting work and strips of leather mounted one by one. “For this new Schiap bag, I wanted to riff on a classic profile rather than chase a trend; simple feels perfect to me right now”, says Daniel Roseberry.

The bag features the Maison’s signature codes and borrows design elements from the brand’s iconic “Shocking!” perfume created by Elsa Schiaparelli in 1937. It features embossed leather bands, which are repeated on the infinity and are enhanced with golden hot stamping, evoking the measuring tape that circled the shoulders of the emblematic bottle. An interior shocking pink leather lining references the powerful colour invented for the perfume. The bag is closed by a hammered brass plate adorned with a lock that evokes secrecy and mystery, another signature symbol of the Maison that can be found on clothing, jewellery, belts and shoes. The chain is made of hammered brass rings assembled one by one.

The Schiap bag is available in two complementary formats: a clutch version, with a completely detachable golden brass chain that allows it to be worn by hand or on the shoulder for the evening, and a bag version with an adjustable chain for a hybrid carry. It is presented in a monochrome black, ecru and jade version, or in a two-tone version, in the Schiaparelli Salons on Place Vendôme in Paris, Harrods London, Bergdorf Goodman New-York, Neiman Marcus Dallas and Neiman Marcus Los Angeles.

Valentino Unveils Black Tie Campaign Fronted By Kaia Gerber

The Valentino Black Tie campaign has just been unveiled, fronted by Kaia Gerber under the theme “Young, Beautiful and Punk.”

The house describes the theme as “ a timeless moment that seizes an intimate portrait on an unpretentious background.”

“For Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli, beauty comes from harmony. It is not an aesthetic imposition, it does not obey rigid canons, nor fixed rules,” the house continued.

The new campaign was shot at the iconic Oheka Castle in New York, by renowned American fashion photographer Steven Meisel.

Discussing why Gerber was selected for the launch, the house said “The Valentino Black Tie Advertising Campaign discloses the beauty and confidence of a unique individual, who disobeys the rules and traditional standards of a dress by establishing its own. Unconcerned with social conventions, Kaia boldly embraces the unexpected looks, with a newfound sense of rebellion and confidence. It is a refreshing departure from the norm and a demonstration of the power of individuality and self-expression.”

“The black tie, once a symbol of formality and masculine power now represents a shift towards inclusivity and personal expression, allowing individuals to celebrate diversity, push boundaries, bringing new life and meaning to a classic symbol of elegance and power.”

These Are The Four Luxury Art Museums You Need To Visit This Season

Collaborations between the world’s luxury fashion houses and the works of iconic artists are certainly not a new craze. Elsa Schiaparelli (of the eponymous house she founded) started the trend during the 1930s when she began to work with Salvador Dali, Man Ray and a slew of other prominent artists on her couture collections (which were said at the time to make her rival, Coco Chanel, envious of the former’s high brow connections). Indeed, the blurring of distinct creative fields has arguably only accelerated in recent years, championed most prominently by the late great Virgil Abloh who merged the far-flung areas of architecture, contemporary art and fashion in his work.

One of the main reasons for the historic cross-pollination between art and fashion is arguably the symbiotic qualities the two fields offer one another. In simple terms, fashion is mainstream and de jour, whereas art has a gravitas which the fashion industry can only aspire to. Meanwhile, the art industry can gain from the fashion houses’ alluring promise of mainstream exposure. This is perhaps why some of the biggest luxury houses have increasingly decided to branch out and give their name to brick-and-mortar art galleries in some of Europe’s leading cities. The result is some of the most boundary-pushing, breathtaking and innovative collections on offer on the continent. If you need further reason to visit, we’ve put together everything you need to know about Europe’s big four luxury art museums.

Fondation Cartier

The Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain, commonly known as the Fondation Cartier, was one of the first art museums established by one of the big luxury houses, in 1984. Situated south of the river in Paris, the impressive gallery is certainly worth a visit while in France’s fashion capital. Those who have explored some of the GCC’s modern cultural landmarks might find the building familiar too, as it was designed by renowned architect Jean Nouvel – the mastermind behind the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the National Museum of Qatar. One of the early works by Nouvel, the museum contains many of his signature styles, with its unique glass build blending harmoniously with its surroundings, allowing plenty of natural light to illuminate the artworks. Over the years, the museum has become a beacon for showcasing a diverse range of contemporary artistic expressions, including visual arts, photography, design, and more. It also hosts a variety of temporary exhibitions that feature works by both established and emerging artists from around the world. According to Charlie Clarke, associate curator of the Ron Mueck exhibition, the latest show aims to reveal the development of Mueck’s work over the last twenty years through “invisible but tangible threads” of connection.

Fondation Louis Vuitton

The second fashion house to establish an art gallery in Paris is Louis Vuitton, which arrived on the French art scene in 2014 with the opening of the Fondation Louis Vuitton in the city’s Bois de Boulogne Park. LVMH, who commissioned the building will only own the property until 2069 due to French planning laws, however, the company has arguably created an architectural masterpiece with the build (the work of architect Frank Gehry) which means that the structure of the Fondation Louis Vuitton is likely to remain long after the lease finishes. The unique architectural design is characterised by its sailboat-like glass structure, which consists of twelve curved, billowing sails made of glass panels. Rumoured to be a favourite project of LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, the foundation hosts a variety of exhibitions, art installations, and cultural events, ranging from contemporary visual art to performances, music, and other forms of artistic expression. Its mission is to foster artistic creativity and encourage engagement with contemporary art on a global scale. Art fans will also be interested to know that the gallery is close to the Musée Marmottan Monet. The little-known museum on the outskirts of Paris houses some of the best Monet paintings in the world and is worth stopping by, on a trip to or from the Fondation Louis Vuitton.

Fondazione Prada

Prada is arguably synonymous with the Milanese luxury fashion scene. Indeed, it opened its flagship boutique in the city’s well-heeled fashion district, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, back in 1913. It is perhaps no surprise then, that the house chose Milan to establish its first art and cultural museum, the Fondazione Prada. The gallery opened its doors 80 years after the house’s first boutique, in 1993 led by Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli. The museum has several permanent exhibitions, as well as temporary exhibits throughout the year. Many of the seasonal exhibits at the gallery focus on nuanced areas of art, which do not necessarily gain the spotlight in mainstream art. An example of this is the museum’s spectacular exhibition this winter, “Paraventi: Folding Screens from the 17th to 21st Centuries” (running from the 26th of October 2023 to the 26th of February 2024). The Fondazione Prada explains that the exhibit – which is curated by Nicholas Cullinan – looks at “ the histories and semantics of folding screens by tracing trajectories of cross-pollination between East and West, processes of hybridisation between different art forms and functions, collaborative relationships between designers and artists, and the emergence of newly created works.” The museum also provides a platform for architects, and the visual arts (through the foundation’s Prada Cinema) as well as support for industry and academic works through Prada Research and Development. In 2011 the foundation opened a second space too, to exhibit these projects in the northern city of Venice, called, the Fondazione Prada Venice.

Gucci Garden

Interestingly, Gucci chose Italy’s capital of art – Florence – rather than the northern city of Milan to house its offering to the art world. Dubbed the Gucci Garden the hub is a combination of a museum, boutique, and restaurant, all housed within the historic Palazzo della Mercanzia, which is located in the heart of Florence’s Piazza della Signoria. Unlike the first three museums on the list, this creative establishment focuses largely on the history of the house of Gucci and its eclectic creative expansion on the global fashion scene. It serves as a celebration of Gucci’s heritage, as well as a platform to explore the intersections of fashion, art, and culture. The space houses a museum section that displays a curated collection of Gucci’s iconic pieces, showcasing the brand’s journey from its inception to the present day. The museum features a range of garments, accessories, and other items that highlight the evolution of Gucci’s design aesthetics. Meanwhile, Gucci Garden also frequently hosts temporary art installations and collaborations with contemporary artists, further enhancing the cultural and artistic atmosphere of the space. Those who prefer their cultural experiences with a side of Michelin-style cuisine and fine drink pairings will enjoy the Gucci Osteria restaurant inside the palazzo which is led by world-acclaimed Italian chef, Massimo Bottura along with an international team of award-winning chefs whom he invites to collaborate with at the restaurant.

Backstage Beauty: Haute Couture FW 23/24

We take a look at the key Haute Couture makeup trends for this season, with a rundown of the essential details from the key houses at Paris Haute Couture FW 23/24.

Dior

Peter Philips has been at the helm of Dior Makeup for nearly a decade now. For the Haute Couture FW 23/24 show, the creative and image director for the house put forward a look “focused on a radiant and luminous dewy complexion”, he explains. Philips first prepped the skin with two Dior serums and the Dior Forever Glow Veil, before applying Dior Forever Skin Glow and Dior Forever Skin Correct. For the eyes, Philips used the Diorshow Brow Styler and Diorshow On Set Brown to lengthen eyebrows, he then used the transparent gold from the Diorshow 5 Couleurs 539 Grand Bal Palette and “an imperceptible touch” of the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl 090 Black on the root of the lashes. The look was then finished off with minimalist naturally styled lips, hair and nails.

Chanel

Lisa Butler once again took the lead for Chanel’s latest beauty looks for the house’s Haute Couture FW 23/24 show. Butler created a smokey eye, complemented by full natural-look eyebrows, dewy skin and a neutral lip for the show. For the eyes, she applied the lightest shade of the Les 4 Ombres 308 Clair-Obscur just below the eyebrow arch, and then added a small touch of the lightest shade of the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Natural Eyeshadow Palette Medium in the inner corner of the eye. She then traced a line through the eyelashes using Le Crayon Yeux 19 Blue Jean, starting from the centre of the eyelid. She then finished the look with Le Crayon Khol 69 Clair inside the lower inner eyelid rim and Noir Allure 10 Noir mascara on the upper lashes.

Valentino

The theme for the most recent Valentino show was centred around ‘paradoxes’ and ‘simplicity’. However, the dialled-back makeup styled by Pat McGrath very much took inspiration from the latter of the two themes, with barely-there luminous coverage which allowed the Haute Couture and decadent jewellery to be the primary focus. Natural beauty was king (or rather, queen) in the show, which had the epitome of the “That Girl” trend – Kaia Gerber – as the first model to step out on the runway. Natural, glossy hair complemented the looks across the collection, while the occasional dramatic nail art spoke to the ‘paradoxes’ inspiration for the capsule.

Fendi

For Fendi’s FW 23/24 Haute Couture show, longtime collaborator Peter Philips complemented Kim Jones’ spectacular collection for the house by creating a natural, shimmering makeup look. Philips focused on the skin which was kept to the current dewy, clean, hydrated trend paired with nude lips and nails. Eyes were kept free of mascara, with a little shadow brushed below the lower lid line in the outer corner. Meanwhile, Philips used highlighter on the cheekbones to further emphasise his base look for the skin. To complement the paired-down makeup look, Guido Palau created a sleek slicked-back wet-look hairstyle, which was styled differently throughout the show to suit each individual model’s hair type.

Zuhair Murad

The team at Charlotte Tilbury once again took the lead for Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad’s makeup creations for his latest Haute Couture collection. This time, Charlotte’s niece, Sofia Tilbury led the creative direction for the makeup at the show. She used the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Hydrator Mist and Beauty Light Wands, to create a fresh natural skin look. She then used Airbrush Flawless Lip Blur in Ruby Blur and Pillow Talk to complement the gothic glamour in the Murad show. To create the smokey eye look in the show she used the taupe tones from Tilbury’s Super Nudes Easy Eye Palette.

Schiaparelli

The house of Schiaparelli put forward perhaps one of the most daring and creative series of makeup looks at Haute Couture Week. Created by dream duo Pat McGrath (makeup) and Guido Palau (hair) the styled looks included everything from blue body paint to bleached brows. For the more subdued looks in the collection, (and as a base for the more inventive) McGrath used several products from her own collection. To prep the skin she used her Divine Skin: Rose001 The Essence. For the foundation, she used her Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection The System, before adding colour to the cheeks with her Divine Blush: Colour Balm Collection.

Coach Reveals SS24 Collection At The New York Public Library

Coach debuted its Spring 2024 collection with a runway show at the New York Public Library.

Unveiling the next chapter of Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers’ vision of heritage as redefined by today’s generation, the experience celebrated Coach’s design codes and archival language as the foundation for personal style and individual expression.

An evolution of Fall’s youthful interpretations of Coach’s American design language, Spring 2024 introduced tailored silhouettes in heritage materials reimagined with a youthful counter-culture attitude and the love-worn beauty of one-of-a-kind vintage pieces.

The collection featured leatherware and fringed suede jackets and blazers, as well as regenerative cotton and denim staples, hand-distressed with artisanal techniques to create variations in texture and colour—a detail that both celebrates the beauty of pre-loved pieces that become more valuable the more they are worn and challenges notions of luxury that places an emphasis on perfection.

The show was followed with a seated dinner in the library’s Edna Barnes Salomon Room to celebrate Stuart Vevers’ 10th anniversary with Coach.

“Spring is a tribute to the way today’s generation is writing their own story through fashion, and the New York Public Library instinctually felt like the perfect backdrop to unveil this next chapter,” said Vevers. “As I reflect on the past ten years, I wanted the collection to feel personal, too, and to capture the New York fashion archetypes that define my imagination and memories of what the city is, then and now. The collection distils these memories and translates them through Coach’s enduring fashion language—the essential design and quality that inspires people to express themselves freely as they are.”

Held in the New York Public Library’s Celeste Bartos Forum, the presentation juxtaposed the youthful attitude of the collection with the room’s ornate backdrop, customized with décor in Coach’s archival hues. The seating was arranged to give all guests a front-row view of the collection, emphasizing the audience’s role in being part of the story. In addition, Vevers continued his approach of using street-casting to introduce new faces to fashion who represent the spirit of today’s generation.

Your Guide To Fashion Week’s Stylish Cities

From exclusive restaurants to the best hotels, these are the must-visit places in the world’s fashion capitals.

New York, United States

Aman New York

There are few better addresses to stay at in the United States than 5th Avenue in New York. Here, you can find some of the city’s most luxurious hotels, boutiques and decadent historic buildings. One of the most exciting new arrivals on the strip is the Aman New York. Known as being one of the most elite luxury hotels in the world (the Clooneys married at the hotel’s property in Venice, Italy in 2014) the new hotel is home to a spectacular spa and a must-try Japanese restaurant called Nama.

The Peninsula New York

Another stalwart of 5th Avenue luxury is The Peninsula New York. Situated on the same spot for nearly 35 years, the hotel is close to many of the city’s leading luxury boutiques including the original ten-storey Tiffany & Co store. While in the city, be sure to book to have (actual) breakfast at Tiffany’s at the jeweller’s deli.

The Peninsula New York

The eatery is open from 10 am to 8 pm daily and is led by chef of Michelin Star acclaim, Daniel Boulud. For those looking for a different ambience, book in at The Standard High Line Hotel. The cooler younger sibling of the fifth avenue luxury giants The Standard is situated in the city’s popular Meatpacking District. While at the hotel, head to the aptly named The Top of The Standard lounge for sunset. The opulent penthouse space offers incredible 360-degree floor-to-ceiling views over New York’s epic skyline. For dinner, head to Ralph Lauren’s restaurant, The Polo Bar. Popular with A-Listers in the city, the menu offers up a delectable mix of American-inspired dishes with an international twist. For a post-dinner drink, take in Bemelmans Bar, at The Carlyle Hotel on the Upper East Side.

London, United Kingdom

Corinthia

The British capital is home to some of the best hotels in the world. While visiting, book in at the Corinthia London, the property was originally built in the 1800s and is home to some incredible architecture and original interior features. One of the newer developments is the hotel’s ESPA Life, spanning 3,300 square metres in the belly of the building; the spa is a must-visit while staying at the property. For one of the most dramatic locations in the city, stay at the modern architectural masterpiece, the Shangri-La The Shard, situated in London’s tallest building.

Shangri-La The Shard

The city has a buzzing gastronomic scene, and there are plenty of delightful restaurants to take in while you visit the city. Make time to take in Euro-Korean hotspot Sollip, which was recently awarded its first Michelin Star. Sushi fans should check out Taku in Mayfair which offers a fabulous mouthwatering tasting menu. If you’re pining for local food while in the city, make sure to visit Quo Vadis in Soho. This British-inspired restaurant serves up an eclectic mix of thought-proving taste-bud quenching dishes. London is also host to a slew of fabulous members-only venues.

Annabels

Two top picks are the exclusive Annabels and The Arts Club which both allow outside guests to accompany members to their delectable inhouse bars and restaurants.

Milan, Italy

Four Seasons Milan

To soak up the ambience of Italy’s well-heeled fashion capital, the best place to stay in the city is the Four Seasons Hotel Milan. It is situated in the heart of the city’s luxurious fashion district, the quadrilatero della moda, home to the most exclusive boutiques in the city. For breakfast, head to the close by Caffè-Pasticceria Cova. The historic cafe is popular with Milan’s fashion crowd and is the best place to enjoy an espresso and a patisserie, if it’s on the menu, try the panettone, it is one of Italy’s most famous desserts and it originated from the city of Milan (and Cova has been serving the dish since the cafe first opened in 1817). In the early evening restaurants and bars across Milan host Aparativo. Served a couple of hours before dinner, the ritual involves drinks served with delightful Italian small dishes – akin to the Spanish tradition of tapas but on a smaller scale.

Il Salumaio di Montenapoleone

The best place to take in aperitivo is Terrazza Aperol at the start of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II overlooking Milan’s famous Duomo di Milano. Make sure to leave enough time to take in the historic luxury shops too (the first-ever Prada boutique is here), as well as the fabulous art-led bookstore, the Libreria Bocca. For dinner, head to Da Giacomo Bistrot which is a favourite with the art and fashion crowds in Milan. Alternatively, travel to the top floor of the Italian headquarters of Dsquared2 for a delectable meal at Ceresio 7. Also situated in the middle of Milan’s fashion district is the Il Salumaio di Montenapoleone, serving up some of the best Italian dishes in the city.

Paris, France

When staying in the French capital, head to the fabulous five-star Shangri-La Paris, a stone’s throw from the Eiffel Tower (and as such, it has some of the most impressive views possible of the city’s famous monument). The hotel itself is steeped in French history. As the former residence of Prince Roland Bonaparte, the building is dripping in original gold, antiques and art. In a city like Paris, you are in no short supply of luxury properties; Cheval Blanc Paris (close to the Musée du Louvre) and the Mandarin Oriental (in Paris’ famous ‘Golden Triangle’ of luxury boutiques) also offer some of the most sumptuous five-star accommodation in the city, to rest and revive during the whirlwind of fashion week.

Shangri La Hotel
Le Cinq

For some truly indulgent relaxation time, head to The Dior Institute at the Hôtel Plaza Athénée. The spa has everything from state-of-the-art facials to hammam steam baths, to keep you looking fresh while sitting on the FROW. Paris is well-known as the home to not just some of the world’s best fashion designers, but to some of the world’s best chefs too. While in the city be sure to try out the fabulous three Michelin Star Le Cinq restaurant or the delightful Lapérouse restaurant on the Left Bank (where LVMH scion Antoine Arnault is a minority investor). After dark, head to the Buddha Bar Paris to enjoy the city’s famous social scene.
