“Fatto a Mano: or “handmade” in English is one of the most important values at Italian fashion house Dolce&Gabbana.

Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce have always believed in the beauty of handmade products to the point that even until today it characterises their work and something they would like to pass it on to future generations.

Preserving the tradition of handmade, especially Made in Italy is crucial to the brand who use handmade techniques in all of their collections including the Spring/Summer 2021 collection.

The love for handmade, for the human touch, for tailoring and for the discipline connected to them – the virtues of patience and time necessary for the creation of garments, and constant work – are the core of Dolce&Gabbana heritage and DNA.

Every single dress, accessory, jewels, or watch reflect the wisdom of skilled hands, and the beauty of a story that is going to be passed on.

The Spring/Summer 2021 collection “Patchwork di Sicilia” was a tribute to Sicily, an island cherished by the designers. The collection featured some of the most beautiful handmade techniques using a mix of fabrics and colours.

Materials including brocade, poplin, georgette and chiffon were inspired by Sicily’s diverse cultures, while sustainability was also a key theme as new pieces of fabric were created by sewing together different iconic prints.
