Emporio Armani’ Spring/Summer 2022 collection is one that celebrates both the past and the future.
Marking 40 years since Giorgio Armani introduced the line in Milan this collection is a key moment for the brand as it also looks to the future of fashion working with new materials and styles that combine classic tailoring and contemporary sportswear.
Armani drew inspiration from his tailoring history but with new structures and shapes that were sorter, relaxed and more wearable for every day.
A collection that was definitely for the modern contemporary dresser but not forgetting the timeless classic Armani client, the designer was about to offer something for everyone with this collection.
There were wide-leg cargo pants, floor-length coats and oversize shirts which had a hint of nineties culture, while soft linen suits, loose-fitting silk rompers and relaxed chic cuts offered the timeless element we expect from the brand but in a new lighter and more carefree way.
Building up from dark blues and navy at the beginning through soft neutral tones and ending on a bold and bright colour palette this journey through colour perfectly represented the build-up of optimism and joy something we all need in our lives!
Menswear looks had an underlying tone of adventure. Maps were printed across garments and there was the suggestion of exploring across safari-inspired looks.
This collection was one of the largest we have seen on the runway in recent times and it covered a vast array of styles – proving that the designer really does cater to everyone.
For the first time, Giorgio Armani took his closing bow on the runway alongside Pantaleo (Leo) Dell’Orco and his niece Silvana Armani, who are now head of the men’s and women’s design offices.
