Giambattista Valli’s Fairytale Couture Show

Haute Couture week is in full swing and Giambattista Valli went all out with his fairy tale ball gowns. However, the collection started off with simple, short dresses, tunics and trousers, featuring pressed in folds and creases which had been popularised by designers such as Prada, Gucci and Margiela. Valli then switched it up a notch by presented the runway with statement ruffles, long trains with exposed legs and stunning princess ball gowns.

The colour palette was a feminine mix of pastels and florals, with exquisite embellishments made up of intricate crystals. We especially loved the simple, yet head turning mini dresses that featured yards of tulle and separate sleeves. The canary yellow masterpiece that closed the show was also another highlight.

Valli’s Spring 2017 Couture show was a triumphant mix of stunning pieces that really showed everyone what couture is really about.
