Finally! Sarah Jessica Parker fans will be pleased to hear she’s opening her first stand-alone SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker store which will stock her stylish new collection of shoes. It’s located in the new MGM National Harbor near Washington, D.C. and it’s due to open in time for the holiday season on December 9.

The actress told Vogue: “We had imagined that we were many years away from opening our first store, since we’re a fairly small business, but MGM actually came to us and wanted us to join some of the other retailers in the complex. For the first time ever, we get to put all of our merchandise under one roof—our dresses, our candles, the bags, and I get to include my fragrances, which I’ve never been able to do before, and obviously the shoes.”

You’ll find classic pumps, bold statement colours, jewels and embellishments. The store itself will also be colourful. Parker and her business partner, George Malkemus III, drew inspiration from their showroom in downtown Manhattan.

SJP said: “We have this huge Lucite shelving unit that George found in a vintage shop, and from the beginning, we’ve showcased our Fawn pumps in every colour and every grosgrain on the back. It’s become sort of an art piece for us—it’s the apparel version of a candy store. It just looks so delightful and colourful and whimsical, so we decided to sort of re-create that space in our first store. The walls will be our signature colour, which is this pale salmon, and we’ve been buying Lucite furniture in vintage shops and on Etsy. With all the Lucite furniture, the shoes will really create the colours of the store.”
