Dubai’s illustrious Gate Village at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) is set to transform into a vibrant celebration of global art and culture for the 18th edition of DIFC Art Nights.
Taking place from 7-15 November 2024, this edition marks DIFC’s 20th anniversary, expanding the art experience to nine immersive days of exhibitions, workshops, and thought-provoking discussions, in collaboration with world-renowned partners such as Christie’s, Dubai Culture, and Tashkeel.
A centrepiece for local and international talent, DIFC Art Nights will exhibit dynamic works ranging from traditional paintings and sculptures to innovative design pieces that redefine the boundaries of contemporary art. Gate Village’s galleries and open spaces will host live art installations, performance art, and family-friendly workshops, inviting the public to immerse themselves in the world of creativity.
The event promises a wealth of experiences, including complimentary workshops by Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children, scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. daily. These workshops offer hands-on art activities such as pottery, ceramic painting, linocut, and typography. In a unique collaboration with The Happy Box, the “20 Forms of Art” series will feature diverse forms like abstract art, Islamic art, mosaic, origami, and quilling, making art accessible and engaging for all ages.
DIFC Art Nights is also a platform for enriching dialogues between art connoisseurs, collectors, and creators. The opening night will feature an exceptional panel that includes David Linley, Earl of Snowdon and Chairman of Christie’s; Maurice Gravier, Group Chief Investment Officer of ENBD; Anthea Peers, President of Christie’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa; and designer Sami Hayek. These discussions will offer insights into the intersections of art, culture, and investment in the Middle East and beyond.
This celebration of art at DIFC reaffirms Dubai’s position as a cultural epicentre and a beacon for artistic collaboration. As DIFC Art Nights continues to support and amplify creative voices worldwide, visitors are invited to experience the power of art within one of Dubai’s most iconic urban landscapes.
