Based on the Japanese casual dining concept of “Izikaya” this laid back dining destination in Dubai Marina has a relaxed and fun atmosphere allowing guests to try the best of Japanese flavours presented in a unique way.
Launched by The First Group who decided to partner with award-winning Chef Reif Othman who is known for working in the kitchens of Zuma, Play and Billionaire Mansion. He brings this unique Japanese street-food-inspired concept to Dubai for the first time.
What’s on the Menu?
Ikigai’s dishes are inspired by traditional Japanese street food which has been given a chic, contemporary twist. Putting presentation at the forefront, many of the dishes look too good to eat, but you will want to taste them all – we promise!
To begin, choose from a range of small snacks that include Edamame, Crispy Squid and Chicken Gyoza (just a few of our favourites).
A must-try are the Spicy Tuna Tacos which bring together the traditional Mexican Taco and Japanese flavours – they are simply delicious.
Next comes sushi, sashimi and a selection of raw dishes. Depending on your taste the Salmon and Avocado Rolls are to die for, while the raw seared tuna is some of the best you’ll find in the city.
When it comes to main courses you’ll be spoilt for choice but we have to say the Angus Fillet and Grilled Black Cod are our highly recommended dishes. Cooked to perfection, both of these iconic dishes will melt in your mouth. If you fancy something more traditional the Vegetable Hotpot or Stir Fried Spicy Ramen are divine.
No matter how much you eat there’s always room for dessert and traditional dishes including Japanese Cheesecake, Sweet Potato Semi Freddo and a selection of Mochi will finish your meal in a completely satisfying way.
