Your next dinner party is going to win some serious style points with the help of Emilia Wickstead’s first homeware collection, launching exclusively with Moda Operandi.
Few weeks ago, we interviewed Lauren Santo Domingo (founder of Moda Operandi) where she expressed the importance of designers expanding into a lifestyle brands, and looks like the British label has seen the significance of this step.
The collection, inspired by Emilia’s fascination with table placement and love of vivacious dinner parties, includes Italian table linens (cloths, napkins and placemats), alongside beautiful Murano glassware in signature dusty pink and limoncello hues.
“I designed it around my love of entertaining, translating Emilia Wickstead signatures into tabletop with dresses to match,” she said in a statement. “To quote one of my muses, Diana Vreeland: “It’s not about the dress you wear, but it’s about the life you lead in the dress”. I’m a strong believer that living well never goes out of fashion.”
Fabrics take inspiration from previous collections and come in whimsical, chintzy prints or with pale pink border trims. Further inspiration is drawn from the exuberant style of Dorothy Draper, the pre-eminent entertainer, in bright, vivid florals.
